The role holder will work as a Senior Analyst in the Structuring team with primary responsibilities in the retirement lending (“RL”) business.

The role holder will integrate their existing actuarial RL expertise into the Structuring team developing the internal securitisations, contributing to new product/markets development, and driving forward the risk management of the RL business.

Purpose

The role holder will work within the Structuring team with primary responsibilities in the Lifetime Mortgage (“LTM”)/ Retirement Lending (“RL”) business.

The role holder will integrate their existing structuring expertise into the team and manage the structuring and execution of Solvency II securitisation transactions.

This will entail developing cashflow models, liaising with internal and external rating agencies, executing internal securitisations, contributing to new product/markets development and driving forward the risk management of the RL business.

The role will involve engaging with various internal stakeholders, drafting governance papers and transaction oversight and management.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead structuring, execution and stakeholder management of Solvency II securitisation transactions, with particular focus on LTM and future product evolutions in residential mortgages and RL
  • Develop LTM/RL securitisation rating (cashflow) models to enhance modelling capabilities
  • Develop and enhance hedging strategies for the RL business in line with LGR’s overall hedging strategy for interest rate and FX risks
  • Evaluate new investment ideas presented to the business. Support the expansion of LGR’s universe of matching adjustment eligible investments across asset classes
  • Ensure ongoing monitoring of the effectiveness and capital impact of internal securitisation transactions, with reviews and reports being presented to senior management
  • Support new product development and other initiatives including new jurisdictions as proposed by key stakeholders including Legal & General Home Finance (“LGHF”) and LGRR
  • Review proposed amendments to the underwriting criteria and work alongside the Investments Middle Office (”IMO”) and LGHF to monitor underwriting quality of originations
  • Operate at all times within the Mandates and Risk Limits set by the Business Divisions to ensure appropriate control for the Group
  • Ensure the principles of conduct risk are embedded in day to day operations including treating customers fairly, in line with firm objectives

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in front office of a bank, at a credit rating agency, fund manager or other financial institution mandatory

 Knowledge:

  • Strong modelling/quantitative background
  • Understanding of credit and rating risks and markets, securitisation or structured finance
  • Retail credit risk, Solvency II, regulatory / economic capital, IFRS experience beneficial

Skills:

  • Financial analysis / modelling skills essential
  • Credit/Structuring skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Interest in developing a long term career path within a high profile area of the Group
