We have an exciting opportunity for a Operational Planning Manager to be based at either our Hove or Cardiff offices.
To develop and manage the operational MI suite with the aim to provide value adding business insight and accurate demand forecasts for all Insurance Customer Service operational teams. Lead, motivate and develop a high performing team to offer a highly consultative, pro-active service offering to all departments and functions with regards to MI reporting and insight.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Consolidate all operational MI into one specialised team and cerate data sources into a single, shared, data repository for all reported metrics
- Rationalise the MI portfolio while increasing visibility and accessibility of data that truly supports ICS in achieving its end objectives.
- Work in close partnership with operational management, central MI/BI teams and account management teams to transfer ownership and/or standardise account specific MI through the business.
- Use available MI as a platform to provide intelligent insight that supports the correct business decision on growth and cost reduction
- Champion the digitalisation of our reporting infrastructure with a view to remove or reduce the reliance on excel/email.
- Develop and manage reliable forecasting tools and processes that deliver high accuracy at monthly, weekly, daily and intraday level
- Lead all impact analysis from projects and ad hoc customer interactions to ensure MI Suite is ready for change
- Develop the skillset within the MI team to ensure true virtualisation of function while delivering best in class forecasting and MI services that support accurate capacity plans and effective schedules.
- Develop and deliver training to the wider Operational Planning Team that helps individual technical development / system knowledge and helps the department increase its overall effectiveness
Analytics
- Demonstrated ability to analyse large quantities of data to extract business critical intelligence
Technical
- Must be able to quickly adapt to new systems and understand underlying structure of data sources to best leverage the reporting potential of our systems
Forecasting
- Must have a clear understanding of forecasting methodologies including application of regression analysis and time series modelling.
Contact Centre
- A clear understanding of the dynamics of customer service environments, KPIs and demand drivers.
Process Mapping
- Must have experience of mapping existing processes and the ability to identify critical nodes and workload drivers.
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Access
- Understanding of database structures, SQL
- Analytics / Statistics
- Programming / DBA experience would be an advantage.
- Experienced in building and leading a specialist MI team.
