We are recruiting for a Senior Operating Strategy Manager (FTC) to work alongside the other members of the LGR Transformation team to devise optimal ways of working to enable innovative, effective and agile delivery outcomes. The senior strategy manager also works in partnership with the different business teams within LGR to help shape and align business strategy with strategic themes, value streams and delivery portfolios.

Working practices and methodology. Accountable for the development and implementation of effective working practices across the transformation team, shaping an agenda to ‘do’ and ‘be’ agile. Supports the transformation management team in operating and behavioural change towards more effective delivery methods, taking theory, methodology and principles and translating them into actionable plans for the transformation team

Transformation toolkit. Identifies opportunities to work more effectively by working closely with delivery squads to tackle specific business challenges and priorities by using a toolkit of methods and techniques that will help drive the right outcome. These may include agile, lean, Kanban, Six Sigma and more. Where new methods are less appropriate, the senior strategy manager works with the management team to optimise existing working practices.

Capabilities and training. Develops, owns and refines a capability and training map for the transformation team, identifying strengths and development opportunities. Works with the management team and practice leads to develop action plans to maximise capability strengths and to address development areas. Owns a roadmap of development and training capabilities within the transformation team to enable the team to become increasingly effective.

Communication. Owns the transformation communication strategy, developing awareness in the wider business of the transformation team’s capabilities, securing and promoting the transformation brand across LGR. Works with the management team to develop project communication practices across the business.

Operating model. Oversees the LGR Transformation operating model, working closely with the LGR IT team, SSIT and other suppliers to make sure the team is as effective as possible and delivers the right outcomes for customers in the right way.

People management. To take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of team members in the operating strategy team, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance.

Conduct risk. Ensure that the principles of conduct risk are embedded into your day to day operations to deliver good customer outcomes at all times. Ensure that all business processes and internal controls within the squad are designed and performed in a way that delivers good customer outcomes and demonstrates effective management of conduct risk

To take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance.

Qualifications:

Prince 2 Qualification – desirable not mandatory

PROSCI  - desirable but not mandatory

Six Sigma – desirable but not mandatory

ADKAR – mandatory (or similar change management methodology)

Agile/scaled agile/Lean/Scrum – mandatory for at least one of these

Knowledge:

Financial services background – useful but not mandatory

PMO governance and change methodology - mandatory

Cultural/behavioural change – essential

Development of operating models - essential

Provision of change consultancy services - essential

Skills:

Proven track record of delivering large, complex, multi supplier transformation/change projects

Product and technology savvy with an aptitude to bridge the gap between business and IT to deliver pragmatic, cost effective solutions

Track record of building effective relationships in complex environments

Proven background in influencing senior stakeholders and developing outcomes that challenge their original thinking.  

Proven background in setting trends and developing culture of innovation – thinks in new ways and consistently outside the box.

Outstanding emotional intelligence – can engage at any level and foster collaboration and enthusiasm with stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to clearly define issues and find potential solution options.

Senior leadership presence; ability to comfortably interact with all stakeholders (board, customers, employees, partners, suppliers)
