A new opportunity to join us as a Risk Governance Manager. You will be responsible for the risk team planning and ensure the governance frameworks for LGI & GI are effective, fit for purpose and efficient including reporting to governance committees and legal entity boards.

To be responsible for the risk team planning and ensure the governance frameworks for Legal & General's GI business are effective, fit for purpose and efficient including reporting to governance committees and legal entity boards.

  • Assist the Head of Operational Risk in ensuring that the divisional Risk frameworks and governance forums/ meetings (including inputs and outputs) are appropriately aligned to oversee and manage the risks which the Divisions are exposed to.  In particular manage the inputs into the Divisional RCCs and risk reporting to the PICCs and legal entity Boards.
  • To be responsible for the maintenance of the approved persons registers within the divisions and ensure compliance with the SIMR and SMR regimes for the senior management and certificated population.
  • Assist the Head of Operational risk in ensuring that LGI & GI divisions  meet the requirements of the Group Risk Framework and that the CRO team is able to plan and use its resources in an effective way.
  • To be responsible for Risk team planning tools, including the annual plan and the objective DashBoard.
  • Work with other members of the operational risk team to ensure the operational risk management framework across the LGI & GI Divisions is  effective, fit for purpose, efficient and meets all requirements outlined in the SYSC rules.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with the Group Risk Teams to ensure a free flow of information and ensure deliverables from Group Risk teams are factored into the Divisional Risk Plans and reported to the appropriate governance forums.

Qualifications:  

  • Risk or accountancy qualification desirable

Knowledge:     

  • UK Insurance Regulatory Framework
  • Risk Framework
  • UK  Governance Framework

Skills:

  • Planning
  • Regulation (FCA & PRA) analysis
  • Confident communicator up to Exec level

This means we would consider a more flexible working arrangement, where your hours and work location are managed according to business, customer and personal needs’ For this role, you would be based in Birminghan but you could work in other Legal and General offices or at home, as necessary, provided this meets business needs.
