Head of Data Services to drive the successful deployment of the L&G Retirement (LGR) data strategy so that all objectives are met in the core areas of operational strategic focus.

Drive the successful deployment of the LGR data strategy so that all objectives are met in the core areas of operational strategic focus. These are: accuracy, service excellence, operational efficiency, controlled, value creation and high performing teams, so that the service proposition is recognised within the corporate retirement market as ‘best of breed.’

Strategy - Shape the development of the overall bulk data on-boarding service proposition to meet the needs of customers and key stakeholders, establishing and extending our service offering as a differentiator in enhancing LG Retirement competitive position, its reputation and its ability to secure new customers and partners.

Operations Delivery - Lead the delivery of the end-to-end bulk data on-boarding, cleansing and validation proposition, ensuring exacting standards of quality, commercial outcomes, governance, process/systems, communications, and customer experience are met. Operate inside key cost and commercial performance targets. Establish corrective plans as necessary planning for the future in line with business plans and forecasts.

Business Growth - Influence the development of the bulk administrative service proposition ensuring service offering and business growth opportunities are maximised.

New Business Generation - Provide thought leadership and development of materials to promote the bulk business data services strategy as well as innovation in the service model to win new business mandates. In addition, lead site visits and beauty parades to present the LGR’s services model as part of new and speculative business opportunities.

Process Efficiency – Seek creative and innovative ways to deliver operational continuous improvement using LEAN methodologies, whilst maintaining quality, controls and customer outcomes. With a focus on delivering excellent commercial outcomes, ensure a reduction of unit costs to meet capacity.

Technology Savvy  - ensure that data services comply with L&G data protection and security policies and that best practice controls and disciplines are in place to ensure liability data is secure, versioned, referenced and meets appropriate industry standards for data services

Customer Centric - Develop and cultivate strong and effective relationships with a range of internal and external contacts/customers and industry forums to ensure that best practice approaches to data service delivery are identified, tested and, where appropriate, adopted into the Corporate Retirement business proposition in order that it can benchmark against best in class.

Leadership - Through inspirational and engaging management, effectively build a winning team, continually develop out individuals and create a great working environment.

Compliance - Provide leadership oversight and governance to ensure appropriate systems are in place to demonstrate compliance with all relevant legislation & regulations.

People Leadership - Take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance.

Qualifications:

Degree level or equivalent

Lean Practitioner

Skills & Knowledge:

Extensive experience managing data delivery, gained in an insurance and/or banking environment

In depth understanding of defined contribution schemes is desirable

Good problem solving and analytical and financial skills; ability to understand impacts of accounting entries and ledgers, together with high volumes of customer data.

Track record of building effective relationships in complex environments

Proven background in adapting to trends and openness to new ideas

Good team management skills, ability to develop and mentor individuals.

Strong organisational and change management skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise and work independently, managing a high-volume of tasks and deadlines.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully engage and influence a broad range of individuals across various businesses and key support functions
