We are recruiting for a Technical Support Consultant (FTC) to provide written responses to questions relating to tax and trust related subjects both internally and externally.

To provide written responses to questions relating to tax and trust related subjects both internally and externally.

Provide workable and cost effective solutions to Mature Savings. Dealing with technical queries and providing advice on complex technical matters in a timely basis by liaising with internal and external contacts where appropriate. This would relate to internal operating procedures, products, regulatory or legislative requirements and Group policies and procedures.

Identify, assess and communicate new and/or changes in legislative, regulatory, IT and business procedures to Mature Savings ensuring a clear understanding and knowledge of the impact and delivery requirements needed to embed the changes into the business.

Provide, co-ordinate and implement system, process and documentation changes in response to business needs. Ensure that business requirements and risks are clearly understood by all stakeholders and represent the business in ensuring that appropriate approval sign off or requirements are achieved and support delivery through to implementation.

Identify causes of failure, challenge processes and work with the business to act so that process efficiency, cost effectiveness and service quality improvements are achieved.

Support the business by following procedures to manage operational risk and safeguard compliance with legal and regulatory requirements by ensuring a consistent approach is taken and best practice implemented.

Build and maintain an environment of effective communication at all levels.

Ensure an appropriate level of personal competence is maintained and enhanced in order to meet high standards of service and provide technical support and identify risks and issues within Mature Savings.

Demonstrate the ability to manage work and projects effectively, whilst meeting agreed deliverables and targets.

Detailed knowledge of UK Taxes Acts as they apply to Trusts and Estate Planning preferred.

Detailed knowledge of Trust law preferred.

Excellent understanding of legislation and regulations impacting Financial Services and in particular Life and Pension products.

Ability to utilise knowledge to ensure business areas are complying with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements, including the identification of potential process failures.

Experience of the administration issues involved in Life and Pension administration.

Good awareness of industry change and key legislative/regulatory topics

Have an understanding of the general business and financial services environment and regulatory business requirements and its impact on Legal & General's strategy.

Practical knowledge of each of the Group's business and how they interrelate including knowledge of the operational structures of senior management and their reporting lines.

Develops and maintains a working knowledge of the Group's policies and procedures including the Group risk management framework.

Develops and maintains a commercial awareness of all businesses and products offered within the L&G Group.
