Working as part of a development team to develop tools and environments, and provide operational management and support of those tools and environments, for digital applications used across L&G, to meet the strategic objectives of the organization, and drive overall quality improvements to our websites and digital applications.

Key Responsibilites

Build, test, maintain and operationally own multiple DevOps tools and environments to support Digital application development and operations.

Actively participate in agile scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, providing estimates and updates for development activity.

Working as part of the development team to help understand and shape business requirements.

Working with the development team and DevOps Lead to help devise, plan, build and document automated build pipelines and infrastructure as code.

Communicating problems you find to line management and product owners in a clear, detailed and helpful way, reporting progress, risks and issues, and identifying solutions.

 

A general understanding of the Linux operating system (preferably Red Hat based).
An understanding of networking and security.
Experience in at least one scripting language (bash, python, ruby…).
Experience with a configuration management tooling (Puppet, Ansible).
An understanding of Infrastructure as code patterns and principles.
An interest in containers and container orchestration.
A good understanding of CI/CD principles.
Experience using automated build tools i.e. Jenkins.
