We’re looking for a fantastic individual to shape our Over 50s Life Insurance Marketing team and lead the way in delivering excellent integrated marketing strategies and campaigns to drive planned business growth.

We’ve enjoyed great growth in our Over 50s Life Insurance product and are proud of our achievement but there’s so much more we need to do to deliver our business ambitions.  We’re looking for a dynamic individual to shape our Over 50s Life Insurance Marketing team and lead the way in delivering excellent integrated marketing strategies and campaigns to drive planned business growth.

The role of Direct Marketing Manager will appeal to someone who has a passion for delivering results and producing effective through the line marketing campaigns and, as part of a great team, is prepared to take on the challenge of working in a fast paced and demanding environment.

  • Being responsible for the end to end campaign management and delivery of integrated campaigns across the full marketing mix; DRTV, Digital, Press, Direct Mail, and digital marketing channels across our Over 50s Life Insurance product
  • Lead the development and delivery of annual direct marketing plans to maximise performance, sales volume and CPS targets, ensuring expense allocations are appropriate to book size, level of activity and budgets
  • Build, manage and monitor commercial acquisition plans for Over 50s Life Insurance products ensuring delivery of profit and volume targets
  • Effectively launch new products and propositions into the market
  • Build, motivate, lead and develop the multi-discipline marketing team of digital and direct marketing experts, planning and aligning resource appropriately
  • Experience of developing successful TTL Marketing campaigns across all channels and leading a team of Digital and Direct Marketers to achieve commercial targets and deliver fantastic content, experiences and campaigns that make you proud and delight our customers
  • Responsible for the development and delivery of the overall marketing channels – TV, OOH, DM, Press, SEO, PPC, content, paid social, programmatic and affiliates
  • Working closely with the insight team and external creative and media partners to develop and execute a Direct to Customer marketing plans to engage with target audiences and acquire new business
  • Not afraid to own a number – manage, monitor and report on commercial acquisition plans for all Life products ensuring over delivery of profit and volume

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent desirable
  • Professional qualifications in Marketing disciplines (e.g. CIM) essential

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience of defining and creating complex communication plans across multiple products and customer segments
  • Experience of delivering ATL campaigns in particular DRTV
  • Good understanding and proven track record of D2C channel marketing plans that have driven demonstrable business results
  • Excellent understanding of the latest methods of measuring and optimising marketing investments to drive sustainable profitable growth
  • A strong understanding of  paid, earned and owned media and the role that each plays in the marketing mix
  • Experience of developing and managing insight led customer marketing strategies and plans across a portfolio of services, products and brands, preferably within Financial services
  • Solid understanding of the risk and regulatory environment in which the financial services industry operates and the impact it has on marketing strategy, propositions and communications
  • Strong creative skills with the capability to assess every piece of communication through the eyes of the customer and the ability to inspire others to think creatively
  • Strong networking, influencing and relationship management skills with the ability to clearly communicate and influence at all levels
  • A genuine passion for the customer which is demonstrated through all team outputs
  • Numerate, analytical and decisive
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage and optimise budgets
  • Excellent presentation skills
