We are recruitng for a Digital Web Developer to work as part of a development team to provide front-end and back-end (full-stack) web development skills and activity, for digital applications used across L&G in order to meet the strategic objectives of the organization, and drive overall quality improvements to our websites and digital applications.

Working as part of a development team to provide full-stack web development skills and activity, for digital applications used across L&G in order to meet the strategic objectives of the organization, and drive overall quality improvements to our websites and digital applications. Apart from developing large scale solutions, you will also work on short and fast paced proof of concepts and demo projects, showing off the versatility and functionality of our product to internal stakeholders.

Must-have skills:

Proficient experience working with Java, C# or equivalent server side technologies

Proficient experience working with Angular, React or equivalent Javascript frameworks

Proficient experience working with HTML, CSS and Javascript 

Experience writing automated tests and a good understanding of software testing and test driven development (TDD)

A strong interest in and passion for technology, web design and user experience

A supportive, communicative and collaborative approach to working in a team

An understanding of cross-browser compatibility and responsive web design

An understanding of digital/web development or product delivery

Educated to degree level or demonstrable experience in software development (e.g. projects on Github)

Nice-to-have skills:

Experience using front-end libraries and tools (e.g. JQuery, Sass, Bootstrap)

Experience using server side frameworks and tools would be useful (e.g. Spring, Maven, Hibernate)

An understanding of the different drivers and needs of customers, distributors and partners

An understanding of key organisational structures, frameworks and core processes
