You will have responsibility with regards to commercial terms structuring and ensuring consistency of contractual terms for transactions within the Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) team.

The role holder will have responsibility with regards to commercial terms structuring and ensuring consistency of contractual terms for transactions within Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) team.  Where transactions diverge from our standard terms of business, you will be critical in advising commercial leads as to what degree of divergence is acceptable, and ensure that where differing terms are adopted, they are appropriately represented to, and understood by relevant stakeholders during the governance and negotiation processes, including agreement from risk functions and legal teams. 

You will also support new product initiatives and potentially other projects within the UK PRT team.  Using your legal background and deal structuring experience, you will help to ensure we continue to develop and deliver our pension risk transfer offering in line with regulatory, capital, and market driven developments as well as our commercial ambitions and targets.  

Principal Accountabilities:

Support the Core, Strategic and Solutions teams by ensuring consistent commercial and legal terms are negotiated for PRT contracts.

Ensure agreement with Group Legal on terms of business negotiated for UK PRT contracts, and maintain up to date information around deal divergence from standard terms.

Act as point of contact for Group Legal during negotiation of non-standard terms.

Play an integral role in developing and launching innovations to the risk transfer market, liaising with other areas of LGR, as required, to ensure any potential impact of transactions are understood and recognised in the proposition.

Ensure that innovations are taken through appropriate governance processes and appropriately analyse, mitigate and manage risks.

Liaise with Structuring and Reinsurance team, as required, to ensure that there is consistency in front end contracts with potential hedging contracts.

Liaise with LGR Investments to ensure that our offering around collateral and security is appropriate from a legal perspective and from a risk perspective.

Work with Group Legal, and other PRT teams to build relationship with Law Firms.

Participate where appropriate, in Beauty Parades/Pitches to consultants and Trustees and confidently present the L&G proposition, helping L&G to be seen as professional, proactive, and offering innovative solutions.

This means we would consider a more flexible working arrangement, where your hours and work location are managed according to business, customer and personal needs. For this role, you would be based in London, but you could work in other Legal & General offices or at home, as necessary, provided this meets business needs.
