We have an excellent opportunity for a Leadership and Talent Development Manager to join our growing Workplace Pensions Operation in Cardiff.

Purpose:

  • Lead, motivate and support the wider leadership team, championing the customer and people experience to provide excellence in career development and operational performance.
  • Support the leadership in all roles to ensure that they are appropriately trained, kept up to date with regulatory, industry and product/process changes.
  • Design, deliver and evaluate a range of product, technical, qualifications and development programmes across all business areas, based on key learning and development initiatives across DC Pensions in Cardiff, ensuring they meet business needs and support the LGIM business strategy.
  • Represent PD and E team as Workstream Manager in project rollouts

 

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Customer Service

  • Provide customers with a first class service with every contact, promoting customer satisfaction and TCF. Consistently achieve stringent quality and productivity targets, providing timely and high quality training delivery to support business objectives.
  • Act as Consultant with G4 and G5 managers across DC pensions to understand the needs and benefits of any proposed learning and development initiatives ensuring they are in line with business goals.  Create training plans at team and department level to meet regulatory and business change requirements, plus business flexibility and personal development needs.

2. Learning and Development design / delivery.

  • Design, deliver / facilitate and evaluate tailored learning and development solutions across DC Pension operations to increase competence and achieve overall business goals. Create effective training material, including testing, for process, regulatory, personal development and project-related training. 

3.  Planning.

  • Balance own time with business work volumes to review, develop, learn and be able to deliver key learning and development initiatives.  Recommend learning and development solutions to ensure regulatory, and customer outcomes are met effectively and consistently in line with HR policies.  Create individual, and department plans for all key learning and development initiatives and projects, ensure plans are in line with business goals.  Report regularly to ensure key initiatives are progressing in line with objectives.   

4. Competence and oversight (control).

  • Support business areas in putting together a consistent competence and development framework for staff, team managers and process experts across DC pensions operations.    Create effective mechanisms to demonstrate it is being adhered to and that levels of competence are being maintained, up to and including G4 T&C Overseers.  

5.  Projects.

  • Act as Workstream Manager for regulatory and other business changes. Work closely with the Business and Change team to deliver the learning and development requirements in line with BAU and new project deliverables and business goals.  
     

6. E-based solutions / alternative solutions.

  • Research external best practise and offer recommendations, design and deliver alternative learning methods and solutions in line with business goals, including development of the DC Pensions People Development Team.
     

7. Continual Professional Development.

  • Actively seek development opportunities to increase own product, technical and market knowledge, continually updating and improving the service offered by the People Development Team.  Maintain all existing accreditations and qualifications as per awarding body requirements.

Skills:

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, internally and at external meetings with suppliers, awarding bodies and professional entities such as Skills Councils, Welsh Government, delivery partners etc.
  • Proven ability to train and coach in a classroom environment and in ad hoc situations such as individual coaching sessions and meetings with a diverse level of abilities, aptitudes and knowledge
  • Proven ability to project plan meticulously and effectively, but to be able to react flexibly when priorities change, with the ability to innovate and be an agent of change
  • Proven ability to evaluate individual and group understanding, and provide individually tailored solutions based on training needs analysis and awareness of the DC strategy, effectively balancing customer and business requirements and outcomes.
  • Proven ability to positively influence at different levels internally and externally
  • Proven ability to own business problems and resolve issues quickly in a way that protects the business and impacts positively on the customer journey
  • Proven ability to confidently make decisions based on evaluations of risks and using all available information
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships and networks, and collaborate externally and internally
  • Proven ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and changing priorities whilst maintaining the highest standards
