We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to work with key business stakeholders within the Group Finance division to define requirements specifications, producing high-level and detailed business models.

Conduct business analysis tasks under the supervision of a Senior Business Analyst as required.

Contribute to Analysis Planning and Monitoring activities, including the definition of roles & responsibilities of stakeholders, development of estimates for analysis activity, planning of own interaction with stakeholders, the approach for requirements development, traceability, prioritisation, the deliverables that should be produced and the metrics that will be used to monitor progress.

Propose solutions, identifying alignment with business requirements, making recommendations to stakeholders taking into account costs, benefits and risks.

Identify, evaluate and raise change risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies that may impact project deliverables, proposing mitigating actions where appropriate.

Contribute to the assessment of complexity and uncertainty, providing inputs as required under the guidance of a Senior Business Analyst.

Ensure that there is clear requirements traceability throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Continually evaluate the quality of all deliverables, including those of 3rd parties, to ensure the end product is fit for purpose and are acceptable to all stakeholders.

Define, develop and deliver business processes and system solutions to ensure a consistent and good level of service that means customer expectations are met.

Ensure alignment to L&G’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly Policy.

Comply with L&G’s agreed methodology, standards, policies and procedures to produce a consistent high standard of documentation, and ensure strong governance.

Key Objectives

Project Delivery – Deliver comprehensive, accurate and high quality business analysis artefacts within agreed project timescales and costs

Utilisation – Planning and monitoring of business analysis tasks and accurate planning of activities. 

Planning & Control – Define the analysis documentation required to meet the business need, ensuring it adheres to the L&G framework, and that the output is appropriate, clear and concise for the business stakeholders.  Project artefacts to be produced as per the agreed plan with regular monitoring and control deliverables on a timely basis for all stages.

Financial Control – Analysis related financials are tracked and monitored effectively.

Stakeholder Management – Ability to engage with stakeholders of all levels – including operational areas as well as directors and 3rd Parties.

Business Analysis Practice – Actively employ business analysis techniques, tools and methodologies, which effectively support the delivery of change.  Conduct requirements validation with stakeholders, gain the appropriate approvals and maintain requirements traceability.

Continuous Improvement – Contribute to formal project closedown, including the application of analysis related lessons learned.  Work within the correct standards, core frameworks and processes, demonstrating and contributing to improvement of business analysis practice within the area.

Drive And Shape Delivery Of Business Change – Drive and steer the direction of the business change to meet the business need.  Look to prioritise requirements correctly, helping our customer's understand the delivery options available.

Problem Solving With Our Customers – Understand the customer and their business, in order to help them smoothly deliver change.   Analyze all critical factors and propose solutions to solve key issues or problems.

BCS ISEB or CBAP Certified.

Strong use of Business Analysis tools, techniques and governance in order to support the delivery of robust business change;

Self-starter, delivery focused with a positive attitude and solid experience in a lead analyst role.

Experience with working in finance change – particularly financial reporting – is an advantage;

Confidently able to liaise with, influence, advise or challenge stakeholders at all levels, including Directors and Senior Managers. 

Confident to work closely with experienced and qualified actuaries, accountants and IT professionals;

Strong capability to work with the business areas to understand their current model, and align their business objectives/goals with the overall Finance Strategy;

Experience of leading, defining and documenting strategy and governance models

Experience of leading business processes, identifying and proposing alternative processes to further improve business efficiency; Proficient in process modelling tools and techniques.

Ability to prepare and present information using different techniques to gain stakeholder buy-in, and articulate complex information to other team members;

Strong verbal, written and pictorial communication skills, to meet the needs of both change delivery, as well as the stakeholders;

Experience across the full change project lifecycle.
