We're currently recruiting for a Technical Systems Specialist in Hove.

Deliver accurate, compliant and timely improvements to the ALPS Administration System with Agile development methodologies and continuous improvement at the heart. Deliver the successful deployment of improvements the PRT Services technical systems so that all objectives are met in the core areas of operational strategic focus. These are: accuracy, service excellence (including digital servicing), operational efficiency, value creation and digital workplace, so that the service proposition is recognised within the corporate retirement market as ‘best of breed.’

Operations Delivery – Deliver enhancements and continuous improvements to the LGR Technical Systems (including ALPS Administration) by gathering and validating requirements, planning and delivering business analysis and producing and reviewing technical specifications where required.

Customer Centric – Collaborate with all business stakeholders within the group (including PRT, Finance & Financial Reporting) and external 3rd parties to ensure a full and complete understanding of technical system enhancements. Lead business update sessions as appropriate.

Compliance – Ensure clear requirement traceability throughout the lifecycle of change and determine and implement the full test approach in line with the agreed test methodology and standards. Produce and oversee testing deliverables throughout the lifecycle of development e.g. UAT, BAT, PAT etc.

Process Efficiency – Seek creative and innovative ways to deliver operational continuous improvement using LEAN & Agile methodologies, whilst maintaining quality, controls and customer outcomes.

Leadership – Provide coaching and training for all less experienced team members to ensure they are motivated and capable of delivering excellent outcomes using LEAN & Agile methodologies. This should include peer checking and review of changes, identifying and delivering training needs as appropriate.

Business Technical – Provide PRT scheme, calculation and data expertise to all loading teams, administration teams and across LGR as required. Support the Pensioner and Deferred Pension Loading teams in all activity including migration and new scheme loading.

Treating Customers Fairly – Ensure that the principles of Conduct Risk are embedded into your day to day operations to deliver good customer outcomes at all times. Ensure that all business processes and internal controls within your role are designed and performed in a way that delivers good customer outcomes and demonstrates effective management of Conduct Risk.

Qualifications:

Formal qualification in Agile development methodologies, such as SCRUM (CSD) or SAFe

Lean/Six Sigma Practitioner

Knowledge:

Expert knowledge of both the strategic system (BPA Admin) and the underpinning technologies (Java, Websphere, Puredata)

Some knowledge in key Digital enabling technologies

Excellent understanding of LEAN and Agile methodologies and how they will help deliver our digital workplace strategy

Strong understanding of risk management and how to actively manage risks and issues.

Highly customer  focused understanding the need to build and maintain relationships throughout the group as well as helping to deliver outstanding customer service to our policyholders

Produces clear and warm written and spoken communications.  Uses the appropriate method of communication when communicating with our external and internal customers. Shows resilience when receiving feedback from individuals, teams and management and acts on the feedback. Provides feedback both positive and constructive to others.

Teamwork - Positive, supportive and co-operative, especially when working to achieve the team’s goals and objectives. Guides and leads individuals.

Handling Change - Able to quickly adapt to changing circumstances & situations. Able to use own empowerment to support and lead others through change. Remains constructive at all times during change and helps others to achieve the same. Supports others in accepting and dealing with change.

Our view is that this role is suitable for agile working. This means we would consider a more flexible working arrangement, where your hours and work location are managed according to business, customer and personal needs. For this role, you would be based in Hove, but you could work in other Legal & General offices or at home, as necessary, provided this meets business needs. Details of agile working will be discussed during the interview process.
