As the Employee Communications & Engagement Manager for our General Insurance division, your role will involve using digital and face-to-face channels to capture, create and deliver great content; bringing to life the difference we make to customers, communities and colleagues alike.

The General Insurance division is a newly created business area with a fast paced energy and enthusiasm for success. You’ll have the opportunity to shape and define an internal communications and engagement strategy for this business area; bringing to life the GI story.

As the Employee Communications & Engagement Manager for our General Insurance division, your role will involve using digital and face-to-face channels to capture, create and deliver great content; bringing to life the difference we make to customers, communities and colleagues alike.

The General Insurance division is a newly created business area with a fast paced energy and enthusiasm for success. You’ll have the opportunity to shape and define an internal communications and engagement strategy for this business area; bringing to life the GI story

  • Develop and manage the implementation of the GI internal communications strategy and plan including full channel management, content, metrics and insight; developing our peoples’ understanding and awareness of where our GI business is going and how we’re going to get there.
  • Plan, co-ordinate and support the engagement initiatives across the GI business division, linking in with business area leads to support their ongoing engagement approach whilst identifying and driving improvement activity.
  • Proactively build excellent stakeholder relations and an effective internal network to seek out GI news, business updates and success stories. Lead and manage assigned projects as required.
  • Manage the communication to our Birmingham colleagues, encompassing all staff within the site; helping to drive wellbeing, engagement and site specific initiatives.
  • Manage the GI intranet site and all other appropriate channels (including our face-to-face channels such as Leadership briefings), to inform, educate and engage our audiences across the GI locations.
  • Ensure all content is relevant and timely. Effectively implement initiatives to maximise GI’s exposure in internal communications of the Group such as the Loop, and co-ordinate Group communications and initiatives within our own GI communications programme.
  • Effectively implement plans to maximise CEO, senior managers and key business managers’ profiles, key messages and projects within GI.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and third party suppliers to ensure timely and effective delivery of communications activities as required; monitoring usage of applicable budget.
  • Develop all communications in line with best business practice, Legal & General’s tone of voice and brand guidelines and ensure they have followed the correct approvals process prior to release.
  • Work in line with our Employee Communications Manager for Legal & General Insurance (LGI) to ensure that (where necessary) any relevant messaging for both GI and LGI audiences are consistent, maximise synergies and minimise duplication across the two divisions.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Broad understanding of different media, audiences and their needs for effective communications.
  • Ability to adapt communication styles to suit the audience and messaging.
  • Experience of delivering multi-channel communications within a multi-site environment, to inform, engage and inspire.
  • Experience of developing and delivering engagement strategies which link into the divisional strategic objectives
  • Experience in managing complex communications programmes including: large-scale events, and internal communications/campaigns
  • Excellent project planning and time management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to interpret complex information.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Experience in internal communication and engagement is required.

Please note this position is being recruited on a 6 month fixed term basis.
