The purpose of the Business Partnering team is to provide a clear link between the business and finance to ensuring that the financial implications of business and strategic decisions are fully assessed and understood.

The purpose of the Business Partnering team is to provide a clear link between the business and finance to ensuring that the financial implications of business and strategic decisions are fully assessed and understood.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Business Partner and Financial Planning

Perform tasks to produce financial management information, forecasting, planning and scenario analysis to assist the Retirement business in the management of its business performance.  Develop processes to keep up to date and improve efficiency where possible.

Provide assessment of reinsurance opportunities, reporting assumptions and methodologies and input into research projects.

Aid in the development of financial modelling and methodologies to assist LGR Finance and the broader LGR division in the management of its business performance.

Provide technical support to the LGR division in financial assessment of acquisition, large Bulk transactions and other commercial opportunities.

Provide support in assisting the broader LGR Finance team in the implementation of model/methodology changes and Group-wide discussion of regulatory change (e.g. Economic Capital, Solvency 2, IFRS Phase 2).    

Strategy and Competitor Analysis

Progress the development of the LGR strategy by supporting work on the insight and analysis of target markets, including assessment of the regulatory environment, financial assessment of commercial opportunities and competitor analysis.  

Inform the Retirement strategy by running models to perform stress and scenario testing and collating results.

Customer Relationship and Information Management

Engage with the team’s customers across the broader Retirement division and the wider Group.

Develop and maintain relationships within the wider Finance team.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience required

Jobholder is likely to be an actuarial student making good progress with the actuarial exams. 

Jobholder has some UK Financial Reporting experience (EEV, IFRS, SII and EC) and a working knowledge of MS Excel and Prophet

Ability to analyse data and draw appropriate conclusions is a must. 

Quality and delivery focused, creative, self-starter with the ability to build relationships across teams

Proactive attitude to change and be able to respond well to changing priorities from different sources.
