Working withing DC Pensions Operations you will provide operational support, advice and guidance to ensure appropriate operating procedures and controls are in place across DC Pensions Operations.

Working withing DC Pensions Operations you will provide operational support, advice and guidance to ensure appropriate operating procedures and controls are in place across DC Pensions Operations.

  • Review operational controls and reporting to ensure that client and customers’ reasonable expectations of performance, standards and service are met. Where failings are identified, support the development of corrective action plans and/or change.
  • Undertake assessments to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems and internal controls; analyse business and/or system changes to determine impact, identify and assess operational risk issues
  • Support the business in maintaining internal control standards, including timely mitigation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external auditors.
  • Encourage timely disclosure of risks, issues, errors and breaches and proactively monitor actions to ensure that items are escalated, reported and actioned appropriately.
  • Provide operational controls expertise and guidance for internal projects and initiatives that impact DC Pensions Operations
  • Support the training and development of managers and staff, assisting with drafting material for training sessions and delivering risk-related training and other presentations as required.
  • Experience of working within an operations department (ideally Financial Services) including responsibility for managing operational risks and controls 
  • Ability to influence others and implement change 
  • Close attention to detail with a proven ability to analyse data and identify potential risks
  • Strong organisational skills, high level of attention to detail, and adherence to deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Strong management reporting skills, ability to translate data into actionable information.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure high quality delivery of management information and presentation in meetings and other forums
  • Ability to adapt to changing and competing priorities
  • Good awareness of the financial services regulatory environment
  • Knowledge of the Pension businesses is desirable but not essential
  • A recognised risk management qualification is desirable but not essential
