An opportunity to join our Technical Claims team as a Team Manager. Managing a team of highly experienced and technical claims specialists.

  • The role holder will lead a team of Senior Personal Case Managers responsible for the investigation and management of first party property damage claims with retained authority working with the  Technical Claims and Major Loss Manager to devise claim strategy and operating principles for complex property claims.
  • You will lead, manage, motivate and develop your team in a manner that is consistent with the company's policies and procedures to maximise their potential, their engagement and their contribution to the business. 
  • You will ensure that appropriate leadership is provided and that processes, systems and controls are in place in order that risks and issues are identified and escalated to ensure that customers are treated fairly in line with our Treating Customers Fairly Policy.
  • Detailed knowledge of the principles of insurance and the rules of policy construction and contract law.
  • Experience of managing high value and complex property damage claims to a high standard demonstrating the skills required to support the development of our Personal Case Managers ensuring effective delivery of rounded decisions.
  • Experience of leading a claims team in the event of surge scenarios, maintaining controls and balancing risks as the situation requires.
  • Complete understanding of claims best practice and reserving policies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and legislative practices, case law and protocol and good understanding of underwriting policy.
  • Complaint handling experience with a good understanding of FCA and FOS requirements.
  • Good knowledge of insurer/supplier relationship and interdependency leading to the successful fulfilment of claims.
