The role holder will be responsible for assisting LGR International Investment Manager for providing advisory service of investment, ALM strategy, and process management to LGR’s International businesses – L&G Re (Bermuda) and LGRA (US)   

Purpose:

The role holder will be responsible for assisting LGR International Investment Manager for providing advisory service of investment, ALM strategy, and process management to LGR’s International businesses – L&G Re (Bermuda) and LGRA (US)   

Principal Accountabilities:

Conducting detailed investment analysis including relevant scenario and stress analysis, logically assessing the upside and downside risks to asset allocations of the traded credit portfolio and direct investment portfolio.

On-going monitoring of investment management under both IFRS and SII framework. Driving improvements to documentation and procedures notes connected with the provision of investment and monitoring services. The objective is the agreed strategy should be properly documented and implemented effectively under clear delegated authority via IMA and SLA.

Actively contributing to the investment pricing portfolio for new PRT deals and monitoring the efficient implementation of the investment strategy for new liability on-boarding.

Liaising with teams across the Group, including LGIM and Reporting teams, to implement projects and understand impact on balance sheet management.

Actively contributing to the formation and implementation of the international investment strategy.

Ensuring the principles of Conduct Risk are embedded into your day to day operations to deliver good customer outcomes at all times. Ensuring all business processes and internal controls within your role are designed and performed in a way that delivers good customer outcomes and demonstrates effective management of Conduct Risk

 

Qualifications:

Outstanding quantitative skills (First Class Numerate Degree/Post Graduate qualification).

Typically the jobholder could be qualified CFA charter holder or studying for CFA exams, or a part qualified Actuary looking to pursue the full qualification.

Knowledge:

Prior experience of working in insurance or reinsurance company with good understanding of balance sheet and profit reporting regimes will be highly valuable

Good understanding of fixed income assets

Strong and demonstrable understanding of asset valuation concepts and models

Strong capital market knowledge

Understanding of European and / or  American pension risk transfer markets will be useful

Skills:

Highly commercial approach.

Excellent  written and numeracy skills

Good analytical skills

Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
