To identify and gather all information required in order to assess and produce quotation proposals for Group Protection products which include death in service benefits, Group Income Protection and Group Critical Illness, working within business guidelines and standards.

  • To monitor and complete incoming quotation requests, ensuring requests of importance are prioritised and completed within the business timeframes,and where required be able to auto-underwrite cases within the current parameters.
  • To take responsibility for each costing related activity referred by team managers, including dealing with complex queries or issues and problems associated with the costing process. This will specifically include the ability to deal effectively and efficiently with bespoke and complex quotation requests.
  • To work towards sign-offs within each costing process and maintain work within the required business threshold,ensuring that a ‘Right First Time’ approach is adopted on all casework.
  • To understand the risk factors that affect the price and terms of Group Risk scheme and ensure all quotes allow for those risk factors. Where accurate information is not available have necessary judgement of what is a reasonable assumption.
  • To understand the varied terms and jargon used within business specifications in order to vet and obtain what is required within the Elixir platform.
  • Treat all customers fairly to ensure customers are provided with relevant information at appropriate times throughout the life of products to enable them to manage their reasonable expectations regarding the potential future benefits available.
  • To communicate and assist IFA’s as well as internal business areas such as Operations and Distribution through all mediums to ensure all enquiries regarding business quotations are handled effectively and within required time frames.
  • To apply knowledge related to an area of competence to mentor and coach others, provide advice, guidance and technical input in order to improve their understanding and competency within a costing process.

 

  • Extensive, existing Group Protection experience a definite requirement
  • Confident with customers: Able to handle direct customer contact effectively on a range of subjects including complaint handling both written and oral
  • Good with technology: Must be comfortable with the use of computer based systems including Microsoft Office
  • Highly proficient in Excel and the manipulation of data
  • Comfortable with change: Able to remain motivated within a fast changing growing business and to pass this flexibility on to peers
