Leads, co-ordinates, creates, and delivers responses for Request for Proposal (RFPs), Due Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ), and other external client-related requests for Active Strategies, which accurately and favourably represent the organisation and the related investment products and services to prospective and existing clients and their advisers.
Leads the process of responding to new business and external client retention requests for the asset class. Typically focused on high complexity questionnaire/submissions, lead preparation and completion of responses for review by SMEs using standard and newly created content. Ensures responses are approved in line with deadlines for delivery.
This role will require:
- Taking responsibility for producing and finalising production of responses for the asset class.
- Working collaboratively with other Proposal Product Specialists and team members from our managed services provider as well as across LGIM, especially the Sales and Investment teams.
- Excellent knowledge of the asset class or sector represented.
- Develop understanding of investment philosophy, processes, and performances.
- Develop relationship with associated investment SMEs to keep abreast of developments.
- Be the interface between Proposal Services team and Investment Management teams.
- Contribute to the development of the assets under management through collaborating with sales team members.
- Communicate clearly and timely with business partners, SMEs, and sales team members, especially the opportunity managers.
- Be the point of contact in the Proposal Services team for the asset class; and provide technical support and other assistance to the rest of the Proposal Services team on the asset class products.
Response coordination, development, and delivery:
- Lead preparation and finalisation of responses for review, using standard, pre-approved content as well as creating new tailored content where necessary.
- Communicate with business partners and SMEs (e.g., Investment Management, Distribution, Performance Measurement, Legal & Compliance, etc.) to verify appropriateness of content during drafting process.
- Prioritise own workload to adhere to the project timeline, highlighting any challenges or resource constraints.
Database content management:
- Following defined processes:
- Collaborate with Content Manager to create, curate, and refresh content for their investment discipline.
- Use content management database to locate and use the correct content for assigned questionnaires/submissions.
- Use templates and database-related tools as appropriate.
- Utilise the feedback function to share details of updates.
Review and approval:
- Track all responses for receipt of appropriate approval and document stages.
- Review own work and that of Proposal Specialist (junior) against external client requirements and best practice guidelines for written style, grammar, punctuation, and consistency.
Building relationships:
- Represent LGIM to digital portals (e.g., DOOR, Invest Connect, etc.) and identify and coordinate internal resources to support the engagement.
- Guide and train (where necessary) junior team members (e.g., Proposal Specialist, Graduate Proposal Specialist) in improving their knowledge of the asset class.
- Build effective working relationships with colleagues and business partners.
- Develop understanding of external clients and their requirements, LGIM’s investment products, and distribution and product management priorities.
- Use relationships and understanding of these areas to develop responses to news business/external client retention requests.
Other:
- Participate in ongoing initiatives to support global business requirements, such as training, reporting, and tools or systems development and maintenance.
- May actively propose/use automation tools, including supporting content retention refreshes and quality checks involving strategic vendors.
- Financial and technical writing skills
- Editorial skills, including document layout
- MS Office suite, including Words, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access
- Any other editing tools
- Content management systems, e.g., Qvidian
- Client relationship management (CRM) system, e.g., Salesforce
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools, e.g., Power BI
- Organisational skills and adaptability to work under pressure, manage workloads to deadlines, and tight turnarounds
- Collaborate with team members to drive improvements in related processes and procedures
- Knowledge of capital markets and investment management concepts with desire to learn and deepen expertise
- Understanding of institutional and retail distribution channels; the client segments, their differences, and the proposals process for each
- Collaborate with critical partners to complete responses
- Manage internal clients
- Understanding of LGIM’s organisational structure, product offerings, and clients
