Legal & General Investment Management have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Architect to define and communicate Legal & General’s shared technical and architectural vision across projects and portfolios to help ensure the system or infrastructure under development is fit for purpose. You will have a critical role within the Architecture function, focus on Infrastructure Delivery competency and aligning the many solutions to a shared technical direction.
- Deliver project work (both strategic and tactical) in compliance with relevant Technical Architecture, ensuring solutions are successfully delivered and fit for purpose
- Work with all necessary IT and Business staff to establish target Technical Architecture and migration paths based on business requirements, IT strategies and good value for money
- Implement and maintain the necessary artefacts (including principles, policies, standards, roadmaps and strategies) and tools required to support a coherent set of Technical Architecture
- Actively research and monitor technological developments that would improve IT within LGIM by reducing cost and/or improving functionality in line with business requirements
- Take ownership and provide technical governance/consultancy for specialist area(s) and any architectural issues within that area(s)
- Provide technical consultancy to infrastructure and development teams where necessary to assist with project delivery and/or problem resolution
- Excellent understanding and skills in Technical Architecture and an understanding of IT, Information Security and its application to provide and extend business capability
- Demonstrable experience working with AWS
- Lots of experience designing identity, governance and monitoring solutions, data storage solutions and business continuity solutions
- Hands on experience of building and architecting Technical solutions including deep knowledge of Cloud native services
- An ability to simplify and communicate complex information to senior stakeholders
- Confident using Agile principles and working in an iterative, fast paced development environment
- Good knowledge of Redhat (RHEL), Microsoft Windows, Storage and Networking
- Confident working effectively with senior business stakeholders and partnering with suppliers
- A comprehensive understanding of technology automation solutions to improve deployment speed and delivery capability.
- Significant experience of introducing DevOps controls and approaches, where software development and the ongoing operation of production environments are incorporated into the software development lifecycle.
- Able to work collaboratively with the Global engineering teams, colleagues across the business and various external partners
