As experienced Protection product subject matter expert for Individual Protection products in the Product Management Team. You will own the delivery of key technical product management activities to ensure L&G Retail Protection Products are maintained and developed with accuracy and to a high quality, supporting the L&G Retail Protection strategy.

Developing and maintaining subject matter expert status of L&G Retail Protection products and competitor offerings by monitoring and analysing a wide range of MI, market insight and customer research. Use expertise to optimise L&G Retail Protection’s end-to-end product propositions, customer outcomes and New Business Value Add.

Ensuring all products are developed and managed within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) frameworks, including ongoing risk and value for money reviews. Review the performance of products and the service provided to customers to ensure that expected and acceptable standards are achieved. Support the monitoring and management of operational and regulatory product risks, with key issues logged on OneSumX and mitigating actions managed.

Working collaboratively and contributing to agile scrums using your product expertise to deliver accurate and high-quality product and proposition developments in line with the Retail Protection Product Strategy, working with cross-functional areas (Finance, claims, underwriting, pricing, servicing, IT & change) to maximise the commercial benefits and customer outcomes of developments.

Demonstrating product expertise and raise awareness of the products, through technical support to cross-functional areas, helping to answer queries and resolve issues. Support Senior Product Manager by contributing to the creation of high-quality committee papers and business cases for continuous development to optimise L&G Retail Protection’s end-to-end product propositions, customer outcomes and New Business Value Add.

Owning and maintaining the Product Terms and Conditions and Policy Summaries, including syndications across distribution channels, ensuring they are always accurate and up to date. Be responsible for reviewing and updating external sources of information regarding L&G Retail Protection products so that our products are always accurately, and where possible, positively represented.

Reviewing and providing recommendations for all product related literature, providing high quality, accurate technical inputs for a range of customer communications, contact centre scripts, marketing and sales collateral, servicing processes and procedures. Seek to make recommendations to improve the quality of our customer communications and ensure good customer outcomes, in line with Consumer Duty.

Providing mentoring and coaching to support the development and rigorous performance management of current staff to achieve more. May manage administrative support in accordance with the company's policies and procedures, including the Partnership Agreement, so that the team’s business objectives are achieved consistently.

Degree level qualification desired or equivalent experience 

High level knowledge of Individual Protection Products

Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge.

Knowledge of Power BI or similar reporting software packages.

Experienced at managing Individual Protection Products using a Product Lifecycle Management framework.

Experience of owning and updating product literature, ensuring technical accuracy and adhering to plain English standards to treat customers fairly.

Be detail and data oriented, with experience in using data and insight to identify opportunities

Experience in communicating at an array of levels with attention to detail and grammar.
