We are looking for a talented part-qualified actuary to join our Financial Reporting team in Hove. 

In this role you will provide financial results for all metrics (including IFRS & Solvency II), as well as supporting analysis and commentary relating to our Group Protection product.

You will also provide regular and reliable updates to management to enable the team to disseminate financial information in an effective and informative manner, ensuring its presentation and analysis meet the varied background and experience of the customer base.

This is a Hybrid Working opportunity based from our newly refurbished office in Hove, which will give you the freedom and autonomy to split your working week in a way that gives you the desired work/life balance you need.

  • Performing tasks and processes, under guidance, to support and enable the delivery of timely financial reporting results for all metrics (including but not limited to IFRS17 and Solvency II), meeting required internal and external standards.
  • Supporting and contributing towards the analytical and investigative work carried out by the team.
  • Identifying, establishing and maintain close working relationships with other teams and customers involved in the reporting process to ensure that results are delivered in a smooth, controlled and efficient manner, responding calmly and with pragmatism to unforeseen events.
  • Performing, with some guidance, the tasks necessary to enable the development, support, maintenance and continuous improvement of the team’s financial reporting systems, processes and reporting methodologies, ensuring they are robust, for the ongoing production of the financial results.
  • Ensuring compliance with all internal and external standards and best practices is adhered to.
  • Actuarial Student who has cleared a couple of exam sittings and has some relevant industry experience.
  • A 2.1 degree or above (preferably in a mathematical or highly numerate subject)
  • A good level of written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and effective priority management.
  • A flexible approach to work requirements.
  • Ability use own initiative and to work without guidance as required.

The role you are applying to is part of our rotational program, designed to further develop and enhance your skills, and as part of this program you will be expected to rotate in both of our sites in London and Hove.
