Wide-ranging opportunities

Our “One L&G” ethos means you’ll be part of a truly ambitious global business. Members of our team regularly support Legal & General Retirement America and Legal & General Reinsurance. In recent years we’ve offered numerous secondment opportunities in both our New York and Bermuda offices.

We have a strong relationship with our colleagues in LGIM, the UK’s largest asset manager and LGC, our alternative assets platform, who invest society’s capital for society’s benefit, creating jobs, transforming communities, and changing lives.

About L&G

Established in 1836, we are one of the UK’s leading financial services groups and a major global investor, with international businesses in the US, Europe, Middle East and Asia. With over £1 trillion in total assets under management, we are the UK’s largest investment manager for corporate pension schemes and a UK market leader in pensions de-risking, life insurance, workplace pensions and retirement income.

We have also invested over £20 billion in direct investments such as homes, urban regeneration, clean energy and small business finance. Through nearly two centuries of rapid change, we’ve been there, improving the lives of our customers, and building a better society for the long term.

About the business area

Our multi-award-winning Pension Risk Transfer business helps the trustees of defined benefit pension schemes and their sponsoring companies to secure their member’s benefits and settle their pension obligations through buyouts and other insurance solutions (known as bulk annuities). In the last five years alone, we have secured over £30 billion of pension liabilities, protecting the retirement income of over 100,000 people.

We work with companies and pension scheme trustees to help them honour their DB pension promises to their employees. We do this through insurance transactions called bulk annuities (buy-ins and buyouts), which enable pension trustees to secure their scheme members’ benefits with us and therefore:

  • help companies to settle their pension liabilities so that they can focus on growing their businesses,
  • increase the financial security of their members and help to support them in retirement,
  • provide capital for us to invest for the long term to back our pension commitments.

Our commitment to Equal Opportunities

Across our Group, we run a multi award-winning Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) programme that actively champions equality in all its forms. Our D&I programme offers opportunities for colleagues to get involved and help drive meaningful change
