This role offers a unique opportunity to work in-house for a FTSE 100, whilst benefitting from the breadth of clients that is more typical of a PR agency. You will work for the Group’s alternative asset platform, Legal & General Capital (“LGC”), alongside an experienced, dynamic and highly driven Communications team.

Legal & General Capital was created in 2013 to invest the Group’s capital into key sectors of the economy which need investment and innovation. Supporting the senior members of the team, you will work across a breadth of industries namely residential property, specialist commercial real estate, clean energy, Venture Capital, GP Investing and Digital Infrastructure. 

 

 

  • Supporting on execution of business line and corporate communications strategies across content creation, media engagement, press release writing and distribution and measurement.
  • Forming and fostering strong relationships with journalists to help support our on-going communications programme across the business. This includes managing and maintaining press lists establishing press engagement and thought leadership programmes for key spokespeople across the L&G business and supporting the planning and execution of multi-channel campaigns to support the business growth ambitions.
  • Liaising and building relationships with senior internal stakeholders and our subsidiary businesses to ensure their communications are in line with Legal & General’s broader messaging. Work with the team on planning major research and news-led campaigns.
  • Helping to raise the profile of LGC across multiple communications tactics, including producing written materials in the form of press releases, articles, case studies, speeches and presentations. Ensure news flow is communicated and covered in national, local and trade press;
  • Together with the PR team, act as a point of contact for all press enquiries, responding quickly to requests in order to manage stories and facilitate additional comment opportunities.
  • Monitoring forward features and the news agenda across key publications.
  • Providing events support, including major press events and L&G conferences.
  • Working closely with the LGC marketing and Internal communications teams to ensure all activities are aligned and maximised across multiple channels, including the Group’s proactive and reactive social media channels.
  • Acting in accordance with the company’s policy around Treating Customers Fairly (TCF). Ensure that all PR, Communications and Marketing materials accurately portray our business strategy, initiatives and offerings and provide sound and competent advice where required.

You will be a PR professional, preferably with experience in one or more of the following industries: residential property, specialist commercial real estate, clean energy, Venture Capital, GP Investing and Digital Infrastructure.

  • A passion for the written word; able to deliver concise and responsive communications activities in line with the company’s wider strategy. 
  • Strong organisational skills and detail oriented
  • Strong writing skills
  • Demonstrates diligence, analytical approach and works proactively to resolve issues 
  • Able to think independently and challenge in an appropriate manner 
  • Able to operate under time pressure and work to deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively
  • Self-motivated - a self-starter with the proven ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
  • Ability to forge strong media relationships, with existing contacts within the stated sectors preferable
  • Understanding of what makes a good story and strong awareness of the wider news agenda
  • Able to adapt to new situations in a fast-paced environment
  • Substantial experience in PR, preferably in one or more of the following sectors: Clean Energy, Venture Capital and GP Investing.
