Work on the structuring and funding side of the LGR mortgage business with a particular focus on Equity Release Mortgages (ERMs). The role will involve overseeing L&G’s ERM funding relationship(s) from a pricing, risk and relationship management point of view. The role will also entail overseeing new product development and executing new funding arrangements in the UK and overseas.

• Lead product pricing and front-line profitability and risk management of L&G’s ERM and non-ERM mortgage businesses from a funder standpoint.
• Lead business expansion activities through mortgage product development and evaluation of new investment proposals in the UK and overseas.
• Senior stakeholder relationship management across LGR as well as L&G’s lending businesses
• Lead and/or contribute to execution of new funding arrangements and ensure transaction terms as well as operational set-up are in-line with L&G’s risk appetite. This will entail process planning and deal structuring conversations alongside liaising with key internal functions (risk, finance, tax, legal) to manage transaction delivery and complete necessary governance including presenting to senior management
• Maintain BaU oversight over existing funding arrangements including with respect to product pricing and legal and regulatory compliance to ensure risk and profitability management in line with L&G’s risk appetite.
• Operate at all times within the Mandates and Risk Limits set by the Business Divisions to ensure appropriate control for the Group & ensure the principles of conduct risk are embedded in day-to-day operations including treating customers fairly, in line with firm objectives
• Manage and develop junior members of the team to assist their career progression.
• Take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, making sure management discretion is used in a consistent manner, and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance

• Financial analysis / cash flow modelling skills essential
• Credit/Structuring skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Residential mortgage lending experience
• Significant experience working in front office of a bank, insurance company, asset manager, consultancy or advisory boutique mandatory
• Proven track record of participation in the execution of structured transactions for insurance companies, ideally secured funding and/or asset reinsurance
