Reporting into the Director of Group Internal Communications & Engagement, the Head of Employer Reputation will be responsible for ensuring that L&G’s position as an employer - both externally and internally - supports our growth ambitions and is commensurate with the size and scale of L&G and its role in the global economy and society.

​This role would suit a communication leader with a desire to use their skills working across employer reputation. What’s important is your experience leading communications strategies across a complex, matrix organisation and your ability to influence senior stakeholders across the business.

 

  • Designing and delivering an audience-first communications strategy that builds, reinforces and protects L&G’s reputation as an employer at group level, across owned channels; influence LOBs comms leads to support and reinforce group strategy; work closely with Head of Internal Comms (Group) and divisional leads to ensure comms strategy is reinforced appropriately internally.
  • Working closely with Group Head of Inclusion and Head of Sustainability to ensure employer reputation strategy supports the group’s strategic intent and goals at division and market level.
  • Managing a team of two.
  • Shifting L&G’s culture of ad hoc and untapped advocacy to a pro-active advocacy culture across the business that measurably impacts reputation, talent attraction, business growth and contributes to a digitally literate workforce; design and implement a group wide advocacy program underpinned by the appropriate culture, process, tech and content strategy;  identifying current advocacy activity and influence a diverse group of stakeholders to support and adhere to one core set of advocacy principles and goals. 
  • Building on work to-date, gather comprehensive insights to design and embed a compelling and differentiated EVP across the business at group, LOB and market level. You will determine what is important (business context, local setting, employee wants/needs), shape the right story and how L&G tells it (bespoke framework for EVP identify system), support the divisions with business specific messaging and relevant creative expression.
  • Designing and delivering a comprehensive EVP playbook that will guide the business in consistently bringing the new EVP to life across all communications and employee journey touch points, across all LOBs and functions; develop the strategy to ensure that recruitment marketing asset creation for the wider business shifts to a self-serve model; work closely with Head of People Experience on strategic approach to ensure employee experience delivers on the EVP across the employee lifecycle.
  • Positioning the ER team as a specialist enabler, providing the expertise, frameworks and tools across the business to help solve specific talent challenges; advise the business in positioning L&G as employer of choice and employer of the future, ensuring senior stakeholders across all LOBs and functions are appropriately engaged and supported.
  • Providing strategic counsel to Talent Attraction team across employer branding (design and deliver guidelines/toolkit, earned media, social media visibility and advocacy support) and attraction strategy (job boards, paid campaigns, content marketing and careers website UX and content).
  • Advising and championing for investment into a formal L&G Alumni network strategy.
  • Experience of designing and implement comms/marketing strategy or complex programmes of work at group level across a complex and matrix organisation
  • Use of audience insight and analytics to design and implement strategic comms campaigns
  • Social media / content strategy
  • A consummate networker, with the ability to influence across a matrixed organisation by building strong relationships and demonstrating subject matter expertise. They will also be able to demonstrate the ability to influence and persuade at the most senior levels of an organisation
  • Experience of managing a team with the ability to coach experts, whilst allowing them to influence independently across the business
  • Demonstrable ability of Project Management for large, multi-stakeholder initiatives which have been delivered on time, within budget and bringing key stakeholders on the journey
  • Coaching capability and an understanding of how to run seminars/workshops for different audiences to build the organisational understanding and ability to use the Employer Reputation frameworks autonomously
  • Data driven and analytical with the ability to translate data from across the business into strategy
  • In depth understanding of the employee journey and the ability of the EVP to influence each touchpoint
  • Able to connect conflicting priorities, bringing people together to align their agendas
  • Combining big picture, creative thinking and a hands-on approach towards proactively developing innovative initiatives that deliver a ROI
  • Ideally knowledge of EVP strategy
  • Ideally experience of developing and delivering best-in-class Employer Brand programmes for a large complex business, across a range of channels, which are closely aligned with strategic business objectives, workforce plans and Recruitment/HR Strategy
