We are currently recruiting an Operational Risk Analyst to join our growing team on a 12 month FTC basis.

You will join our team of risk professionals within the LGIM business as part of the global Chief Risk Officer function to provide 2nd line operational risk oversight.  You will also support the business in their efforts to manage/mitigate potential risk exposures through review, challenge and the provision of advisory services. 

  • Analyse and oversee the adequacy and completeness of risk events, issues, actions, controls and controls attestations.  Complete monthly reconciliation of risk event losses to the finance general ledger, and provide insight into quality and timeliness issues for discussion with the Operational Risk business partners.
  • Apply your excellent organisation and administrative skills to provide vital support to the Risk Framework and Advisory team, including but not limited to monthly reporting on the individual businesses control environment, issue/action exceptions, updates in the OSX system and ad-hoc requests.
  • Working closely with Head of Risk Framework and Advisory, produce insightful aggregated risk reporting for management, committees, ICARA capital modelling, regulators, auditors and client audiences as required.
  • Provide effective advice, guidance and challenge to functional support teams on all Operational Risk matters, including risk events, Issues and actions, and Risk and Control Self Assessments. Conduct spotlight reviews, risk identification and assessment workshops and deliver second line opinion on effectiveness of controls, risk culture and first line framework.
  • Deliver or support training for key stakeholders across the business to improve understanding of the OneSumX system and roles and responsibilities under the ‘three lines of defence’ model.
  • Maintain an open and effective dialogue with all stakeholders, proactively suggesting ways in which the business can further understand, take responsibility for and mitigate its risk profile
  • Contribute to the on-going development of the Operational Risk framework, processes and systems for identifying, controlling and reviewing key operational risks and control deficiencies.
  • Relevant experience in a risk management role, and/or asset management industry are desirable
  • Relevant professional certification(s) desirable (e.g. IRM, IOR, IAM, ACOR)
  • Knowledge of the asset management industry
  • Technical understanding of operational risk management, risk frameworks, risk events, metrics and systems
  • Ability to understand and prioritise key tasks
  • Strong analytical, reporting and presentation skills, with an enquiring mind and the ability to present complex risk data and trends to audiences in a clear and compelling manner to support decision making
  • Excellent time management, including the ability to manage expectations around the delivery of your tasks
  • Proven track record of building effective relationships with key business stakeholders
  • Ability to remain independent and to demonstrate that independence whilst also listening to business stakeholder challenges
  • Must be delivery focused, possessing high levels of resilience and determination.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Microsoft Office – advanced user in Word/Excel/PowerPoint
