We are currently hiring a Financial Crime Analyst to join our growing team. 

This role contributes to and assists the wider L&G Retail Divisional Financial Crime (DFC) team in the effective delivery of second line oversight of financial crime risk management for L&G Retail; with specific focus on supporting the DFC Consultants.

  • Take responsibility for DFC team mailbox to ensure queries are responded to accurately and within agreed timescales providing support, advice, and guidance to L&G Retail divisional stakeholders. This includes but not limited to responding to Law Enforcement Enquiries and financial crime related Data Protection requests as well as supporting external industry engagement to provide insight on industry intelligence and organised crime impacting L&G.
  • Support the FIU activities by completing research and intelligence gathering to identify financial crime risk exposure and conducting non-complex / low level financial crime investigations, ensuring outcomes support an improved first line risk control environment in line with investigations and intelligence strategy.
  • Support non-FIU second line financial crime risk management activities by ensuring adherence to the Divisional Financial Crime Standards and alignment with the Group Financial Crime Policy and escalate significant issues to FC Director. Work with DFC consultants supporting MI reporting requirements, quality assurance and completion of risk assessments, to ensure first line risk control environment is within appetite.
  • Work collaboratively with FC, Risk and business stakeholders across the L&G operating divisions and group functions in the execution of all accountabilities to deliver improved outcomes.
  • Supporting DFC Consultants with project and change initiatives requiring financial crime input to ensure appropriate controls are implemented and project/changes are compliant with DFCS. 
  • Treating Customers Fairly: work with Governance, Policy & Advisory team (within Group Financial Crime) to design and ensure delivery of suitable training to staff to enable them to meet their requirements under policy with respect to financial crime programs
  • Commercial knowledge of business sectors in which L&G operates; specifically Life and Pensions
  • Some knowledge and experience of financial crime risk management and investigations
  • An understanding of UK Regulatory and legislative framework with respect to Financial Crime
  • Some knowledge of industry standard financial crime risks and control measures in financial services organisations
  • Good clear and effective communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively, both individually and within a team
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders to promote a good financial crime culture
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop financial crime prevention, detection, and investigation skills
  • Previous commercial experience in financial crime role (desirable)
