We have a wonderful permanent opportunity here at Legal & General for a Capacity Manager to take responsibility and ownership for ensuring that our services and infrastructure are able to deliver against all of our agreed capacity and performance thresholds within our Group Finance division both in a timely but cost-effective way.  We will be looking for someone who will understand how the business operates and plan for future capacity requirements taking into consideration business demand.

You will have the opportunity to provide key inputs into the Service Transition and Design to ensure our capacity requirements are considered and will interface with Change reviews to make sure production is safeguarded and remains operationally resilient.

Whist doing this it will also be a great chance to establish a continual improvement framework and drive quality improvements as part of capacity reporting and forecasting and ensure our technology is scaled to meet business needs.

  • You’ll have accountability for capacity planning and for the development of these services within the Group Functions Division
  • You’ll be aligning processes and attestations to key controls identified for Capacity Management
  • Supporting project delivery through defining and agreeing requirements and providing expert knowledge on best practice Capacity planning, reporting and processes to meet expectations. Provide guidance to project teams on Capacity Management and Performance matters.
  • Contributing to the creation and implementation of best practice capacity planning vision, strategy, polices, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
  • Assess existing capacity and develop operational plans and forecasts based on future plans for demand
  • Manage deviations from the plan that have a financial impact
  • Monitor key business processes for capacity and demand, identify capacity constraints and provide analysis
  • Own and maintain all related Capacity Management Policies, Processes and IT controls
  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in ITIL process and best practices with associated ITIL qualifications (especially focused on Capacity Management).
  • Risk Management (identification, scoring, prioritisation, etc.)
  • Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills and the ability to learn new software packages.
  • PowerBI would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrable experience in statistics, forecasting, and management information methods and techniques
  • Significant experience of building capacity/forecasting models and plans and undertaking complex analysis to create information
  • Hands on experience with Dynatrace would be an advantage.
  • •             Ability to create and implement short-term and long-term plans for capacity management including remediation plans and cost efficiencies
  • •             Experience of developing a constructive working relationship with Product Teams, Service Teams, and Business units
  • •             Experience of communicating complete technical issues and sensitive information to business units, senior stakeholders, and the wider community
  • •             Prior experience
