Legal & General Retirement Solutions are currently on an exciting digital transformation journey and are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to take responsibility for a number of end-to-end technology solutions to deliver strategic business outcomes. As a Solution Architect in this team, you will put forward an all-encompassing vision for target state technology solutions for the initiatives, and work with development teams spanning multiple technologies to ensure their implementation. You will interact with people in IT and the business, proactively identifying and resolving issues that are creating inefficiencies or hindering progress.

  • Producing and owning the end-to-end architecture for multiple projects, spanning disparate software and infrastructure components
  • Driving key architecture decisions for projects and aligning stakeholders to a proposed approach
  • Working with development teams to ensure detailed component-level design responds to high-level architecture. Working with the Senior and Enterprise Architects to ensure that data and functional architectures adhere to the architecture principles and support the target state vision for the enterprise
  • Clearly communicating the architecture, key design decisions and approaches on assigned projects to key stakeholders, project bodies, relevant governance/ assurance forums including the Architecture Design Authority
  • Working closely with Product Owners and Business Analysts to help translate desired business outcomes into technology solutions
  • Facilitating and participating in detailed design reviews and ensuring that all components of the solution are aligned to the target state vision
  • Working with other Solution Architects to ensure alignment of high-level architectures across LGRS
  • Modelling current and future state architectures in an architecture modelling tool (LeanIX)
  • A track record of designing and delivering solution architecture for complex initiatives spanning multiple technologies
  • Experience of software selection, procurement, application integration, migration, re-platforming, refactoring and other common types of IT changes.
  • Confident using Agile delivery methodologies, working knowledge of the SAFe framework would be a big plus
  • Understanding and practical experience of cloud technologies, including Saas, PaaS, IaaS, container platforms, Serverless etc. - AWS, Azure or both
  • Proven experience of delivering an API and microservices led approach in container platforms / using native AWS tools and exposing scalable APIs to external consumers
  • You have great communication skills and are a fantastic facilitator, you’re able to broker an agreement on a contentious issue
