Are you a Product Owner looking for your next move?

We’re currently looking to hire a Product Owner to join Legal and General Group Data team. This is a fantastic role where across multiple cloud data platform product teams you’ll lead the ongoing product development to deliver incremental value and maximise the customer experience in line with the strategy and roadmap

  • Creating an inspiring vision and strategy for the product and develop this throughout its lifecycle, in collaboration with the wider Data strategy
  • Helping to continuously communicate the vision to all levels of stakeholders across the business, using the vision to help motivate all members of the product team by providing purpose
  • Being responsible for the stability and growth of your product based on good development practices and by enhancing it using data-led insight into business need
  • Defining and managing the product development backlog, continually prioritise the product backlog using transparent business value measurements. Tracking the lead time of backlog items to ensure business need is being met in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure that the highest priority backlog items are refined and sized by the team and meet the teams’ “definition of ready” for next sprint
  • In collaboration with the team, set the goal and scope of each sprint. Manage change of business priorities via the backlog for the next sprint
  • Building trust with stakeholders and help them to understand agile processes so they can get the most value from the product team’s communication
  • Hold workshops with stakeholders and the development team to identify the Minimum Viable Product
  • Protecting the team from distractions, in collaboration with the scrum master, and act as a representative for the engineering teams to create an environment in which the teams can deliver the best product
  • Managing the team’s competing priorities such as risks, feature requests, technical debt, and innovation time to ensure that we’re delivering well-governed, high-quality features
  • To hit the ground running in this role you’ll have proven experience in a Scrum product ownership role as well as Data Warehouse experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and tools required for software engineering 
  • Expert knowledge of Scrum and other agile approaches
  • You’ll ideally have experience of delivering a platform-as-a-product
  • Experience of working in a highly technical environment with experience of working with public cloud engineering teams
