Now is an exciting time to join Legal and General Investment Management,  in particular our Data Function, as we design, build and operationalise our data strategy. We have designed a Marketplace as a single consumption point for data across the business and our Data team enable all data consumers to adopt, consume and leverage high quality data to support our business strategy. To do this, we need a passionate, experienced Data Control and Helpdesk Manager to drive and deliver key components of our data strategy

  • Being accountable for ensuring all data is classified within the data marketplace
  • Providing leadership on the promotion and education of best practice for data quality and controls in a pragmatic and agile manner
  • Building and maintaining robust control environments for all managed data sets, creating transparency and agile monitoring capabilities across Legal and General Investment Management
  • Developing, leading and managing the Data Help Desk – build an operating framework and data help desk that supports our data consumers
  • Champion our drive to a data-led culture and lead a high performing team that provides excellent stakeholder and consumer support and delivery to unlock value for our customers
  • Leading on innovation and continuous improvement of data quality and data sets, bringing data science and statistical methods as a standard practice
  • Supporting and mentoring teams and internal business units and stakeholders in data management framework requirements, improvements and operationalization
  • Leveraging agile ways of working to manage and deliver multiple projects effectively.
  • Working across multi-disciplined teams to ensure a track record of successful on time delivery (inclusive of projects). These include Data SMEs, Data Masters
  • Supporting the maturation of data quality and controls by working with enabling functions such as Risk Management, Information Technology, Business and Compliance colleagues
  • Building a robust reporting capability – using automation and technology for the visualisation of controls and product data
  • To be successful, you’ll have strong experience in data quality and controls and be able to demonstrate how to structure data controls, data structures, quality metrics, and basic statistics and data visualisation
  • Your blended experience of operations, operational risk and data governance within Financial Services experience is essential and ideally, good working knowledge of data structures, marts, business intelligence, data quality and governance capabilities within Asset Management
  • Deep understanding of data management technologies (data catalogue, data quality management), enterprise and Cloud technologies – an advantage.
  • Experience of building, leading and managing teams that are accountable for data quality and controls in a dynamic and agile way
  • Familiar with core business functions and associated data roles and responsibilities (owner, steward, custodian, consumer) to design and steer compliance with data quality and control requirements.
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, listening), inter-personal and influencing skills, with the ability to bridge SMEs and business through user-friendly language.
  • A passion and curiosity to build innovative solutions to organisational problems through use of benchmarking, networking and sharing of creative ideas and sound data across boundaries
