We are currently hiring a Senior Operational Risk Analyst to join our growing team.

In this role, you will proactively work with other members of the LGIM Europe Risk & Compliance function to ensure the identification and assessment of the impact and likelihood of operational risk across the business through the application of risk policies, procedures and supporting systems to ensure the effective monitoring and management of risk.

You will carry out and ensure a range of day to day activities as instructed, build knowledge of operational risk management techniques, approaches and tools following clearly set out procedures requiring adequate knowledge of operational risk management requirements.

  • Assist with the identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of operational risks (processes, cyber security and IT, business continuity, and outsourcing), its delegates and outsourced service providers and for making recommendations or initiating actions, as the case may be, to address any deficiencies identified
  • Assist in the design, drafting, development and maintenance of operational risk management frameworks, policies and procedures in particular as they pertain to key operational risks including: processes, cyber security and IT, business continuity and outsourcing/delegation.
  • Provide support to Designated Persons in defining, aligning and oversight of control activity aligned to managerial functions under CP86
  • Assist in defining, aligning and oversight of control activity aligned to oversight of segregated mandates.
  • Monitoring and follow-up of risk events, Risk and Capital Assessments and embedding of all LGIM Operational risk standards across the business
  • Assist with the oversight of Delegates and Service Providers to ensure appropriate risk policies and procedures and business continuity plans are in place, receiving and reviewing regular reports on Delegate performance, and in particular on errors, breaches and other operational risk matters
  • Assist with the management and maintenance of the processes and systems for identifying, controlling and reviewing key operational risk and control deficiencies and for ensuring appropriate action is taken by management
  • Assist with risk reviews and due diligence visits on delegates and service providers to LGIM Managers (Europe) Ltd. as required
  • Assist with ensuring control deficiencies are addressed by management on a timely basis through mitigating actions and/or informed risk acceptance
  • Follow-up and reporting on an ongoing basis on key business risks and significant control deficiencies in order to meet internal needs, and legal and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain and develop the working relationship with internal clients in the business and assist in oversight and gathering of key risk indicators and reports for management
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc internal controls and risk reports for internal clients and other stakeholders as required
  • Review operational risk events to understand root causes, process deficiencies and control. Escalate Operational Risk Events/ Identified control gaps and issues on a timely basis; assist in periodic risk and spotlight reviews where required.
  • Promote a strong risk culture
  • Strong academic background ideally with relevant post graduate or technical qualifications
  • Strong report writing skills, attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive and innovative approach.
  • Monitoring, testing, oversight and reporting experience, including third parties directly and remotely.
  • Challenge: provides independent, informed, timely and objective challenges in relation to the management of key operational risks
  • Adequate understanding of and ability to implement an appropriate framework for oversight of operational risks and underlying processes for monitoring, managing and reporting on that risk
  • Ability to quickly disseminate reports, information and other risk MI to identify and report on issues, trends and areas of focus to key stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Good understanding of operational risk, including management techniques and processes, ideally gained in an investment management or financial services context
  • Proven track record in an operation risk or similar role.
