Partnering with the Global Chief Operations function in LGIM, you will ensure that HR advice, expertise, solutions and change management expertise are delivered to the leadership of the business area, maintaining an independent organisational-wide perspective. Leading on the people, cultural and employment relations aspects of strategic initiatives, project implementations and partnership with Unite for GCOO, you will utilise your breadth of experience to deliver outcomes and support change.  

​Directly line managing two HR Business Partners, you will also maintain a close working relationship with the Strategic Target Operating Model (“STOM”) project team. A member of the LGIM senior HR team, this role reports to the Global HR Director for LGIM and is the senior HR partner to the Global Chief Operating Officer, LGIM.  You will work closely with the GCOO senior leadership team to develop, influence, lead and deliver the HR transformational priorities for GCOO. 

This is broad, diverse position; however, we expect that the following elements will be central:

  • Providing proactive thought leadership, expertise, advice, support and challenge to the GCOO and her leadership team on all aspects of people and culture, including strategic initiatives and organisation transformation projects.
  • Driving the development and implementation of overall Group HR and LGIM HR Focus Areas, through active participation and by leading people programme projects where appropriate/necessary.
  • Providing thought leadership, guidance and cost-effective HR solutions to the business on employee engagement, employee relations, talent and succession management, learning & development, performance management and global resource planning with an inclusion and diversity lens running through all.
  • Driving and supporting the organisation-wide focus on inclusive talent management and development, including the facilitation of the relevant business areas talent and succession planning activity, including global mobility.
  • Supporting the annual cycle of people activity, including talent review, pay review, strategic workforce planning, performance management and employee engagement activity.  Pro-actively engaging with post-process reviews with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ensuring that HR solutions within the business represent an appropriate balance between external market practice and internal L&G policy and practice.
  • With the support of the Reward team, developing and implementing appropriate reward strategies for the business area, including where reward solutions are required for strategic initiatives or projects.
  • Ensuring Employee Relations climate is understood and complied with across the business area in accordance with relevant employment laws/ labour regulations. For the UK, working closely with Unite, MCF, local reps and managers to champion and demonstrate working in partnership and its benefits.  
  • Highly experienced senior HR generalist with demonstrable track record of leading transformational organisational change in a global environment.  Evidenced organisation design, development, talent management, culture change agility and UK union industrial relations experience.
  • Financial Services industry experience is essential for the role - namely investment management industry and operations functions
  • Inclusive people leadership with evidence of developing HR talent and building succession pipeline for a broader HR community
  • Influencing senior leadership teams on people and cultural matters and linking this to business strategy.
  • Experience of providing effective HR partnership to support the business with an awareness of the different challenges that are faced.
  • Development of HR strategy, planning and the subsequent implementation.
  • Experience of a range of organisational development techniques to drive engagement, business performance and culture change.  
  • Capability to source, gather, analyse and interpret business focused HR data to influence and enable effective decision making.
  • Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Essential experience in and understanding of employment law (including TUPE, mergers & acquisition employee relations), generic HR policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of people development, workforce connection and collaboration methodologies and current best practice, specifically across hybrid working, data and technological capability upskilling
  • Experience of working in a global matrixed organisation is required.
  • CIPD, SHRM or equivalent human resources management qualification or accreditation preferred
