We have an opportunity to join our Global Operations team on an initial 12month fixed term contract as Cleared Margin Supervisor. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of the function are undertaken in line with internal risk framework, market and regulatory standards.  The role entails ensuring all margining activity across OTC Cleared, Futures and Options product classes is completed on a day to day basis and working closely with both internal and external stakeholders.     

  • Supervising all aspects of the Cleared Margin function, ensuring that all key controls are completed and any issues are appropriately escalated.
  • Ensuring the team is adequately resourced and coverage maintained at all times
  • Liaising with clearing brokers, custodians and fund managers on a daily basis to ensure the effective administration of derivative transactions, maintaining internal and external relationships.
  • Collaborating with internal parties e.g. Portfolio Managers, Cash Management, Pricing, Reconciliations, Legal, I.T and Trade Support.
  • Developing a front to back understanding of team’s tasks and how they relate and impact to all processes; ensuring improved ways of working are constantly identified.
  • Proactively and continuously examine and evaluate departmental processes and procedures to ensure best practice is followed.
  • Understanding key operational risk and performance indicators, including involvement in operational control meetings.
  • Compiling and reviewing Management Information Statistics, analysing trends and proactively investigating/addressing any issues
  • Working closely with trade support functions to ensure any trade breaks are reflected in margin related activity
  • Challenging existing processes and look to make improvements to deliver efficiency savings and strengthen the control framework.
  • Detailed technical understanding of OTC Cleared and ETD margin workflows
  • OTC/ETD technical product knowledge
  • Understanding of the front to back lifecycle of derivative transactions across rates, credit and futures/options.
  • Proven experience within a Collateral functions, at an SME level.
  • Experience of managing a team and demonstrating ability to coach and develop from within
  • Excellent organisation, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively, an ability to be highly organised and set priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, with an ability to successfully articulate issues clearly and robustly, with the ability to communicate at all levels
