The LGIM Real Assets Private Credit business currently manages over £17bn AUM across infrastructure, real estate, corporate and alternative debt products on behalf of a number of institutional investors and managed funds.

We have a new opening for an Asset Manager to join the European Private Credit business (with an initial focus primarily on Real Estate Debt) to ensure that assets are appropriately managed, monitored and controlled in line with investment objectives to maximise returns for LGIM clients.

  • Supporting relationship management (post transaction closing) of both borrowers / sponsors and LGIM internal clients (institutional investors and their funds).
  • Regular / periodic client meetings which may include site visits with borrowers, particularly for greenfield / construction phase / major capex projects.
  • Ensuring investments are appropriately monitored through analysis of financial performance and covenant compliance. This will include review and scrutiny of borrower financial statements, compliance certificates, budgets, amongst others and engagement with management and coordination of investor calls.
  • Ensuring any deterioration in asset performance is identified promptly and combined with proactive borrower engagement to discuss whether remedial action can be undertaken or is necessary.
  • Assist in the production of regular portfolio reviews or investment committee papers covering borrower requests on extensions, amendments, consents & waivers.
  • If it becomes necessary, work with and support senior colleagues in the negotiation and management of restructuring and workout situations with a view to preserving value or maximising recovery for clients.
  • Coordinating interaction with the internal Rating team and/or the Portfolio Management team in respect of the existing portfolio and assisting in the production of any related deliverables including focus lists, and other reporting logs.
  • Assist with and input into internal / business change projects as required by the broader Private Credit team as it relates to the existing portfolio of debt products.
  • Previous experience of asset management ideally within private debt or adjacent market, focussing on the UK and Europe in a wide range of sub-sectors.
  • Sector specialists who have worked on a variety of secured, unsecured and structured finance debt and traded products will be considered.
  • Strong financial analysis skills required – with an understanding of credit risk, rating agency methodology, and ability to analyse / sensitise financial models is key.
  • Strong working knowledge of debt capital markets and products with a focus on infrastructure, real estate, corporate and alternative sectors.
  • Flexible and responsive with a keen attention to detail.
  • Organised, focussed and self-motivated with strong communication (written and oral) and analytical skills.
  • Strong technical skills across MS office applications and BBG.
  • Collegiate approach, and strong team player.
  • CFA (or similar) qualification is desirable but not essential.
