Legal & General's Financial Reporting Centre (FRC) is seeking to recruit an Actuarial Operations Analyst to perform, under appropriate guidance, tasks and processes to enable an effective and efficient financial reporting service to the FRC.

This will include the creation of model points, setting off Prophet Runs.  You will also be involved in the testing of new or updated processes and liaising with the different product teams to deal with ad hoc queries.

The base office for this vacancy will be Hove, though this is an agile role in which you will work from both the office and home.

  • Trigger data extracts, and monitor those and additional automated extracts. Carry out checks and reconciliations to ensure extracts have run correctly.
  • Produce suitable, fit-for-purpose model points and experience investigation data/figures/reconciliations for use by the Financial Reporting Teams.
  • Liaise with technical support to report errors and suggest potential solutions to issues with processes or deliverables.
  • Assist development of processes by carrying out thorough testing of new releases from the Modelling Solutions team and integrate the final changes into Actuarial Operations.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation on Production Centre processes to ensure that best practise is documented and assist with cross training of processes.
  • Provide support/advice to the Business Units within Legal & General by developing a detailed understanding of the impacts changes have on complex processes and helping to prevent potential errors.
  • Understand and monitor timescales and quality control procedures to ensure all processes are carried out to the correct standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Actuarial Operations processes and identify opportunities where processes from the Business Units can be carried out best within Actuarial Operations.
  • Take ownership of your own development within the role and, where appropriate, provide support to your colleagues in their development to maximise the quality of the service we offer to our customers.
  • Review output before it is passed to customers to ensure all data and information produced is accurate and meets the customers' requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Excel course attendance desirable

Knowledge:

  • 2+ years’ experience within financial services operations/reporting would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of insurance products and/or use of Prophet
  • Familiar with L&G systems such as mainframe and remedy

Skills:

  • Good/Advanced Excel skills essential and strong analytical skills
  • Proactive and use of initiative to solve complex problems
  • Ability to cope well under pressure
  • Ability to influence others through evidencing of observations and recommendations
  • Good communicator
  • Ability to identify improvements within processes and process flows
