The purpose of this role is to provide procurement support to the IT Procurement team in Legal & General.  The IT Procurement team is part of the Group Technology department, providing contract and commercial services to the whole of the Legal & General Group including the IT departments, corporate and personal pensions, life assurance, HR, Finance, investment management, etc. 

This role will contribute to the effective delivery of IT procurement supporting the IT Procurement Managers and contributing to the effective day-to-day running of the department.  The role will provide professional administrative support and require procurement systems to be effectively used and maintained for purchase orders, document approvals, spend and contract analysis and reporting.  The role holder should also support improvements to systems and processes.

Specific activities will include:

  • Purchase order approval and follow-up of queries/incorrect documentation
  • Expert contracts system user/administrator
  • Running  spend reports and carrying out spend analysis
  • Producing project reports and other MI, as required
  • Uploading new contracts and remediation of missing contracts
  • Administering contracts for signature and counter-signature  
  • Team liaison with Group Procurement on purchase order system and contracts system
  • Working with other members of the broader Group Technology Performance and Operations team
  • Initial point of contact for new procurement enquiries
  • Providing prompt, professional and courteous support to “how do I” enquiries from internal stakeholders
  • Adherence to Legal & General’s  Treating Customers Fairly regulatory obligations:
  • Excellent organisation skills. Experience and ability to prioritise busy workload, work to deadlines and ability to be flexible in a continuously changing environment
  • Deal confidently with issues that arise and resolve or escalate as appropriate.  Seek proactive resolution and continuously suggest ways to improve existing processes and procedures

  • Produces good written communication.
  • Produces reports and presentations in a well-structured way

  • Numerate and able to handle data analysis activity.
