Our Group function is recruiting a Group Capital Senior Actuarial Analyst, who will be a key member of the team, supporting on a variety of aspects related to Group Actuarial Reporting activities.

We support and offer hybrid and flexible ways of working, and this role can be based in either London or Hove. You will be able to work in an agile way from both the home and the office, visiting the office to meet, engage and collaborate with team members or stakeholders at the office.

The Group Actuarial Reporting team is responsible for the production and consolidation of quarterly and annual financial reporting results at a Group and LGAS level, across a number of metrics including IFRS, Solvency II, Embedded Value and US GAAP.

You will ensure the timely and quality delivery of Group and LGAS results, support compliance with the Group controls framework and support reporting process and methodology improvements.

 

  1. Delivery of Financial Reporting results:
    • IFRS Consolidation: Consolidate LGAS liabilities and IFRS strain analyses. Calculate surplus validation.
    • TMTP Calculation: Assist in calculation of the Solvency II TMTP on a quarterly basis.
    • OAL: This includes the validation and analysis of Solvency II capital for LGAS “Other Assets and Liabilities” on a quarterly basis as well as monthly submission of forecasts and sensitivities.
    • USGAAP: Contribute to the calculation and reporting of USGAAP liabilities for the annual recertification of LGAS as a reinsurer.
  2. Stakeholder relationship management: Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including divisional reporting teams and other areas of Group Actuarial.  Ensure communication is clear, concise and tailored to the needs of stakeholders. Support the continual development & maintenance of proactive engagement with stakeholders to ensure deliveries continue to meet needs and the quality expected.
  3. Process management and improvement: Actively support the development, implementation and maintenance of the team’s reporting systems and processes. Ensure systems and processes are robust, with any associated risks assessed and appropriately controlled. Demonstrate an attitude of continuous improvement, contributing to the improvement of the team’s efficiency and effectiveness.
  4. Governance and Controls: Operate and gather evidence of the effective operation of controls in line with the MRCF, EUC and FCF policies.
  5. Treating Customers Fairly (TCF): Consider TCF requirements where relevant.

You will be a student, part or newly qualified actuary who has good understanding of reporting metrics (IFRS and Solvency II), the UK finance market and risk and regulatory requirements.

Ideally, you will have IFRS and Solvency II reporting experience alongside good communication and interpersonal skills, and analytical skills with the ability to review results for reasonableness.
