Are you looking for a summer internship in Investment Management? One that develops commercial acumen alongside your technical skills?

We’re looking for undergraduates who can answer “yes” to the above for our 2022 Legal and General Investment Management (LGIM) Summer Internship scheme. If you’re successful, you’ll join Legal & General’s well-regarded Investment Management business, which plays a pivotal role in our continued success.

Over our 8-week program (starting July 2022) you will be part of a team, working with our colleagues and gaining first-hand experience at working in an Investment Management business. You will learn about the industry, our clients, and our firm. You will have the opportunity to develop new skills, meet new people and have the chance to add real value to the team you are working with.

We have a range of teams available so whether you are interested in Investments, Real Assets, Distribution, Finance, Risk or Compliance (amongst others) there will be an opportunity for you. Whatever team you join you will be able to learn about the breadth of our business and importance of our culture via our central summer training program.

All we ask is that you are curious, motivated and have a desire to learn more about a career in Investment Management!

First and foremost, we are looking for people with an inquisitive mind and a desire to learn. We’re not expecting prior industry experience, but we’ll want to see that you have the tools to develop quickly. These include:

  • On track for a 2.1 Degree in any subject – we are open to all subject backgrounds
  • In your penultimate or final year of University (i.e. graduating in 2022 or 2023)
  • Analytical mind-set
  • Great communication skills
  • Flexible and a team-player
  • High levels of energy, dynamism and commitment
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively

Whatever your role, we reward ability, performance and attitude with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Our employees have a wide range of benefits including a generous pension scheme, life assurance, at least 25 days’ holiday (with potential to rise to 26 days), private medical insurance, performance related bonuses, a variety of share schemes, discounts at both a huge range of high street stores and our own great products. Your hard work will be rewarded when you join us.

Or are you concerned that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t possible given your personal circumstances? We’re aware that candidates, especially women, can be put off from applying for a job unless they tick every box, or candidates who are parents or have other caring responsibilities may not think they can achieve the flexibility they need. If this is you, we’re keen to connect; and whilst we can’t accommodate every flexible working request, we’ll try to find a practical solution. So why not apply?
