We're hiirng a Finance Analyst to provide analytical support and management information to divisional Finance teams (DFTs).  You'll also review and provide daily and monthly accounting transactions and take responsibility for the production of financial and tax reconciliations and assist with the preparation of the expense ledger, trial balances, tax returns and statutory returns.

  • Contribute to the accurate and timely preparation of the monthly financial / management accounts, related recharge of expenses to legal entities and consolidated expense ledger balance sheet commentary. 
  • Working closely with the Cost management business partners in ensuring all cross charges and month end journals are processed. 
  • Responsible for financial reconciliations and the divisional expense teams balance sheet reconciliation packs.  This includes the investigation and clearance of outstanding items, as per deadlines mandated in the Finance & Accounting Operations timetable, ensuring the reasons for reconciling items are clearly and concisely explained. 
  • Assist and deliver analytical support and management information and transaction reports relating to expense ledger related activities, as well as ad hoc requests from the divisional Finance teams, Group Tax and operational areas.
  • Undertake monthly audits on the expense ledger chart of accounts and fixed asset register, ensuring the reasons for reconciling items are clearly and concisely explained, with action plans in place to resolve. 
  • Review and approve journals for posting to the accounting system as part of statutory financial or regulatory reporting, in accordance with Finance & accounting Operations timetable. 
  • Identify and resolve issues and errors found in Finance & Accounting Operations processes, as well identifying opportunities for process improvement, adding and maintaining them on the continuous improvement log and processing them through to execution. 
  • Maintain procedure notes, RACI, process maps, user guides and policy documents ensuring they are up to date and fit for purpose.  
  • Support the team with project work as and when required.

 

  • Part/Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA studies)
  • Experience in the preparation of reconciliations, financial/tax analysis/reporting is essential.
  • Experience of working on a core accounting system and performing ledger postings and reconciliations.
  • Experience of using, extracting and reporting data from accounting and other office based administration systems.
  • Attention to detail and able to work accurately to tight deadlines.  Perform inbuilt reconciliations and can identify errors in outputs.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills, with an ability to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Proactively seeks solutions to problems and escalates concerns and challenges existing processes and suggest improvements
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
