The role at a glance;

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our busy, friendly team. You will be responsible for accurately maintaining data held across the core HR systems. You will provide a positive employee experience, providing empathy, advice, guidance and interpretation on all employment related policies, conditions of employment and procedures. Reporting into the Shared Services Team manager, this is a hands-on role where you will be working in a fast paced, unionised environment so you need to be confident dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. You will need a customer focussed mindset with great written and communication skills.

We are in the process of changing our service delivery model and the way that our HR shared service team works so this is a great time to join the organisation if you enjoy change.   • Challenging and influencing the customer by providing advice and support on complex and sensitive HR issues including employee relations matters, ensuring these are handled in accordance with employment law legislation.
  • Working alongside our external payroll provider assisting with queries including mileage, payslips, maternity, paternity, redundancy and absence.
  • Providing excellent customer service and ensuring agreed SLA’s and quality measures are met through effective management and prioritisation of workload
  • Identifying and proposing improvements to policy or processes to enhance employee experience
  • Participating in any appropriate HR or business-related projects or initiatives
  • Must have at least 2-3 years’ recent experience in a HR Advisory role within a Shared Services environment
  • CIPD or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Knowledge of Employment Law, GDPR and HR best practice
  • Knowledge of HR Systems administration (Workday, Oracle, SAP…)
  • Highly organised. Able to manage multiple priorities in order to meet strict deadlines.
  • Customer focussed with excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
  • A willingness to challenge in a constructive manner
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate in a clear and fluent way to appropriate audience and adapt the style of delivery to suit the audience.
  • Diligent with attention to detail and excellent data management skills
  • Service delivery mindset
