The Communications Officer works with the Director of PR & Communications and the wider LGI internal and external communications team to support the delivery of an external and internal communications strategy for LGI across a wide range of communication channels. A fantastic role for a developing PR professional.

  • Work with the LGI communications team to support the creation and delivery of an effective external and internal narrative to build the LGI story, projecting our image and strategy of driving digital diversified growth
  • Work with the PR & Social Media Manager to support the delivery of a highly effective day-to-day press office function with ownership of projects
  • Understanding how the media operates, deal with day-to-day enquiries from the media, pitching stories and/or products to the media, building relationships with the media 
  • Support the team to create new PR and internal communications campaigns, working to deliver and implement strategy, monitoring and evaluating their effectiveness and measuring their impact
  • Protect and promote LGI’s external image as well as supporting its internal narrative, be a trusted adviser to leaders across the business on corporate reputation, industry and customer issues and media engagement
  • To ensure consistent messages across LGI, support the Director of PR & Communications and PR & Social Media Manager with the announcement of market sensitive news, while working closely with LGI Internal Comms manager to ensure these messages are also choreographed internally to colleagues at the appropriate time
  • Support the coordination and consideration of communications for media response to potential customer issues in line with our Treating Customers Fairly principles.
  • A team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude with some experience in PR, social media and communications
  • A good understanding of how the media and social media works, and ability to identify available opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with the media in the UK
  • Experience of administration support and ability to prioritise tasks gained from previous full-time employment or work experience
  • Results-orientated, have the ability to generate proactive media stories of strong interest with the media
  • High attention to detail, with examples of excellent time/project management skills and ability to juggle and/or process multiple tasks
  • Proven experience of working autonomously, while naturally inclined to seek input and perspective from a wide range of stakeholders – both internally and externally.
