We are currently recruiting a Head of Workplace Experience & Design who will be responsible for shaping and evolving the workplace experience, strategy and design across L&G’s corporate real estate portfolio. 

This role is a key position in the broader Employee Experience function that brings together corporate real estate, employer brand, communications, talent acquisition, workforce planning, and technology to create an engaging and consistent workplace experience.

 

  • As a senior member of the corporate real estate function, you will formulate the Group Location Strategy and Workplace Strategy/Blueprint across the L&G corporate real estate portfolio for approval. 
  • Defining and owning Workplace Experience across L&G, ensuring this delivers a seamless experience that adapts to changing business needs and provides excellent customer service for our internal and external stakeholders groups.
  • Working with the broader Employee Experience functions (employer brand, communications, talent acquisition, workforce planning, and technology) to create an engaging and consistent Workplace Experience
  • Setting the Workplace strategic and regulatory change roadmap with outline business cases to inform prioritisation decisions
  • Leading the Workplace Design and Space Management capability that owns workspace design and user journeys across the real estate portfolio, using technology to provide real time workplace usage data and insight
  • Building strategic relationships with divisional COOs/Workplace Leads, Group HR Workforce Planning and Talent Acquisition teams.
  • Ensuring that the team is resourced with the skills and capability required to meet current and long term business objectives and that resources are developed to maximise service & performance and ensure Treating Customers Fairly is considered.
  • Taking the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance.
  • Extensive experience across Workplace Experience and Design
  • Ability to provide thought leadership and understanding of external market on the future of work, workplace experience and associated technology
  • Demonstrable experience of defining vision and strategy for a corporate real estate function that drives workplace experience alongside property asset optimisation
  • Experience of defining strategic transformation roadmaps across a property portfolio with associated outline business cases
  • Experience of planning and delivering continuous improvement with external suppliers
  • Supplier relationship and contract management at strategic account level
  • Confident with tools to capture and analyse complex data relating to facilities management and workplace experience to inform strategy
  • Knowledge of Workplace space management and design principles
  • Operates with gravitas and credibility at an Executive level, partnering with a sponsor and uniting different stakeholders to lead the cross functional team to success.
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels using negotiation and diplomacy.
  • Assertive with vision, drive, diplomacy and the ability to make things happen in an environment of ambiguity, complexity and rapid change with multiple senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate complexity into straightforward and simple language.
  • Ability to influence others in the absence of any direct authority with a highly collaborative style, thriving in team environments - ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with a range of individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to provide clear and concise reporting for corporate governance purposes
  • Results orientated mind-set and able to evidence meeting significant goals, targets and deadlines throughout career.
  • Ability to assess the impact of decisions on internal and/or external stakeholders
  • Line management experience in developing, mentoring and managing highly skilled and ambitious team members.
