As a Claims Assessor, you will establish liability through accurate assessment, using your decision making and communication skills to achieve settlement. You’ll also be making a difference in the lives of our customers during difficult times.

  • Gather appropriate evidence and assess information in order to fairly accept or decline claims displaying logical reasoning
  • Manage claims from end to end, ensuring that quality and consistency across the area can be maintained
  • Deal with all aspects of customer communication by taking and making calls, dealing with letters and emails
  • Liaise with internal and external customers and third parties in a professional, friendly and efficient manner in order to obtain information
  • Identify appeals and complaints and take ownership for trying to resolve them with urgency, so that complaints are acted upon quickly and customer satisfaction is achieved
  • Contribute to the training, mentoring and development of other members of the claims team, to improve their skill level
  • Contribute to claims projects or other team or department initiatives 
  • Ensure a consistent, timely and accurate level of service is maintained, meeting customer's expectations

Operating hours: 35 hour week. Mon-Fri, 8am -6pm (flexible hours).

  • For this role you will have previous experience as a claims assessor with knowledge of Income Protection or Medical claims
  • You'll demonstrate good working knowledge of claims processes
  • You'll have comprehensive understanding of Underwriting, including new business process good understanding of reinsurance process and treaties
  • Demonstrate a good understanding on insurance products and policy conditions
  • Have the ability to handle difficult calls, when researching circumstances which may lead to a claim being refuted
  • You’ll have a keen eye for detail, with a proactive approach to case handling
