A new fulltime position within our Valuations Team based here in London. In this position you’ll be responsible for the review of default dealing spreads across our fund ranges, to effectively support the daily spread overrides process to identify any large cashflows or non-market trades that would result in a reduction to dealing charges. Liaising with multiple areas of the business, you’ll resolve any queries with fund spreads and support the Product function with new fund launches. The role will also offer the opportunity to review current processes and work towards implementing solutions to achieve a time/risk reduction.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Develop detailed knowledge of spreads process, completing quarterly, daily and adhoc tasks within required deadlines
  • To work with Product and Fund Managers to calculate and agree appropriate default spreads for fund launches
  • Review and develop process improvements

The Spreads team work closely alongside the Valuations team and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to cross train with this team, which involves:

  • Calculating valuations and unit prices for daily and weekly unitised pooled corporate pension funds.
  • Reconciling fund tracking against market benchmarks
  • Valuing and reconciling the LDI derivative funds
  • Completing monthly valuations and reporting for segregated pension funds.
  • Producing valuations within agreed deadlines and standards of accuracy ensuring all necessary checks are duly observed.

Experience

  • Good understanding of reasons behind the application of spreads
  • Good understanding of Valuations process gained from working in similar role before
  • Good Understanding of different Investment Instruments.
  • Previous experience of spread setting
  • Understanding of different Investment Instruments inc Derivatives.

Specialist Knowledge

  • Good working knowledge of Xceptor
  • Strong experience of Excel based formulae
  • Knowledge of VBA

Competence/Characteristics

  • Good team player
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and work to tight deadlines
  • Highly numerate/ mathematical demonstrating good analytical skills
