We are seeking to recruit a Talent & Development Manager who will develop and deliver people development interventions across the talent, leadership, learning and organisational development agenda and ensure they are strategically aligned to business needs.

You will be working with the Group Functions HRD and Group Talent & Development team to co-create creative solutions to our business challenges, tailor programmes and initiatives to address Group specific needs and develop Group Functions specific solutions.  

  • Working closely with senior Group Functions business leaders and the Group Talent & Development team to shape business specific Talent and People Development strategy and plans.
  • Translate Group Talent & People Development strategy into Group Functions delivered initiatives that support and compliment local and Group business requirements.
  • Direct and co-ordinate the implementation of Group Functions programmes within the business and in conjunction with the Group Functions HR Business Partners.
  • Partner with Group Functions business sponsors, HR partners and COE to build inclusive practices and learning interventions.
  • Provide Talent & People Development advice and guidance, in conjunction with the Group Talent & People Development team, to formulate and deliver strategic policies, initiatives and programmes across Group Functions.
  • Providing overall Talent & People Development direction and guidance to the Group Functions HRD, developing the business specific requirements with senior business leaders and working with Group to develop fit for purpose interventions aligned to the overall L&G strategy.
  • Working with the Group Functions HR Business Partners to mobilise and proactively drive the Strategic Workforce Planning requirements for all functional areas within Group Functions.

 

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of talent, learning, leadership and organisational development methodologies and tools.
  • Awareness of best practice approaches within the learning profession and a desire to explore these in support of people development innovations.
  • Awareness of the business and markets we work with.
  • Awareness of best practice experience design across a range of industries, not just financial services or learning.
  • Knowledge of blended/hybrid learning delivery methods, tools, formats and platforms.

Experience:

  • Evidence of leading the delivery of a people development agenda across a business.
  • Evidence of user-led experience design work that embeds and sustains behaviour change.
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders to co-create and shape a compelling agenda and interventions.
  • Being responsible for compliance programmes and regulatory training.
  • Managing budgets to deliver people development programmes.
  • Experience of working with a diverse audience to deliver solutions that work across business areas, roles and levels.
  • Consulting and managing stakeholders to deliver impact and growth
  • Collaborative working with 3rd party suppliers.

Skills:

  • The ability to look for new solutions that challenge the status quo when needed and appropriate to do so.
  • Understanding of and ability to translate and set strategy in service of people development interventions.
  • Facilitation skills and evidence of running focus groups and workshops that help build creative solutions.
  • Ability and willingness to understand and question regulatory or process-based challenges we might face.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Influencing stakeholders to think differently about people development.
  • Ability to use different experience design methods to suit audience needs.
  • Able to embed, sustain and measure behaviour change as a result of your work.
  • Project-managing people development programmes from concept to delivery
  • Developing strong relationships and networks to get things done
  • Able to prioritise work and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Typically graduate level or corresponding experience with relevant professional qualifications
