We're looking for a Derivative Pricing SME to join our Derivatives team, to ensure that all held Over the Counter (OTC) instruments are accurately priced on time on a daily basis in line with business requirements globally. This is a critical function which is fast paced and deals with all aspects of derivative pricing; providing an efficient service to the internal teams and clients.

  • Ensuring the calculation of the total value of OTC trade exposures is accurate and in line with terms stated in the transaction documentation (ISDA Agreements and Credit Support Annexes).
  • Independently pricing trades via Bloomberg in order to substantiate or challenge official valuations and investigate discrepancies and disputes with counterparties. 
  • Ensuring that new business risk is accurately captured so that all derivatives valuation platforms provide accurate pricing calculations.
  • Acting as the first point of escalation for respective day to day issues, ensuring adequate actions are being taken to address and resolve the issues, liaising with counterparties and other operational areas to resolve queries and overcome valuation disputes.
  • Proactively seeking to improve and streamline existing controls and processes, participating in Derivative Pricing projects including the development and deployment of process automation solutions and centralising data storage..
  • Updating and maintaining records on relevant systems to enable valuation, accounting and monitoring activities to be accurately completed for daily priced clients in line with agreed deadlines. 
  • Communicating with, assisting and advising Investments, Investment Risk, Global Operations and other stakeholders on derivative pricing approach and methodology.
  • Helping to produce Management Information and identifying trends in pricing issues and IPV coverage.
  • Previous experience working within a fast paced derivatives pricing function, with a familiarity of derivatives documentation and processes gained from a similar organisation.
  • Numerate, with experience of pricing vanilla interest rate and inflation derivative products. An understanding of TRS, Options, Zero Coupon Swaps or similar products is highly desirable, along with an understanding of independent price verification.
  • Experience in business analysis, process improvement and change management.
  • Strong PC skills particularly Microsoft Excel are required, with the ability to write VBA / macros desirable.
  • Experience of IHS Markit PV systems or equivalent, and experience in financial modelling using Bloomberg.
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to multi-task in a fast paced and changeable environment.
  • An ability to prioritise effectively and work to tight deadlines, with the ability to work collaboratively with others and a wider team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relay information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal communications.
