We are hiring a Senior Risk Analyst to join our busy team.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing insight, undertaking proactive independent market risk measurement, oversight / reporting across LGIM’s equity, fixed income and multi asset active funds and segregated mandates.  

You will have the ability to identify weaknesses/areas for development, motivate and implement change, manage the front office relationship, actively follow relevant markets and have an ability to ‘form a view’ on risk levels/issues.

  • Independent risk insight and oversight – maintaining a detailed understanding of underlying positions, asset pricing, risk drivers, performance outcomes and market dynamics/volatility.
  • Working with investment teams and fund governance to ensure sufficient risk oversight of products is performed both pre-launch, and on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintaining an open and effective dialogue with fund managers in relation to risk issues, performance outcomes, risk reporting and business/market changes.
  • Helping with the design, development and build of updated market risk and liquidity risk analytics.
  • Regular engagement with product governance to support new product developments.
  • Developing/maintaining the risk management framework including adequacy and appropriateness of internal guidelines / limits.
  • Providing investment risk opinions and challenge across entire product range in relevant Committees and Boards.
  • A quantitative degree, preferably to post-graduate level.
  • Detailed understanding of investment approaches, risk drivers, performance outcomes, market correlations/dependencies/volatilities and stress testing/liquidity.
  • Excellent interpersonal and both written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to fully participate and successfully influence.
  • Ability to remain independent and to demonstrate that independence whilst also providing commercial, practical and value-add solutions for the business, influencing outcomes positively for all stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and experience across a range of markets and products (both fixed income, multi asset and equity)
  • Ability to absorb, interpret, apply and communicate information effectively
  • Problem solving ability.
  • Detailed market risk VaR, risk sensitivity, scenario and stress testing knowledge and experience.
  • Detailed liquidity modelling expertise
  • Well evidenced experience in Python or R, SQL, PowerBI or Tableau. Experience with DAX an advantage.
